  1. Happy new year from the yard, we are still here dispatching military kit to dubious parts of the world For Christmas , I didn’t ask for much toy train stuff, but I fancied a go with this as an experiment Also got a loop of new code 75 bullhead , which will feature on the next plank. looks so much better than code 100 I’ve also been trying to make some loads for my MEAs, which is spoil like that that goes to calvert. It’s basically London SH... and mud as they continue to build in the capital. It’ll need refining as it looks like a chocolate brownie at present . Sorry about the photos , whatever I do with this bloody iPhone it alters them.
  2. “ nothing in it for me “. Like Grahame above, I was hoping for the 1954 Cuban cigar mines 0-6-0 in TT scale, and in the more numerous che Guevara black......I can’t beleive they are doing it in communist red ! Missed opportunity...
  3. How many has the carpet monster got so far ??
  4. “ hunting season “ 2015 with de Niro and travolta. Straightforward tale of revenge. Seriously Dubious Eastern European accent from travolta, sounds a bit like borat. Wooden acting. Awful.
  5. Liking the BR blueness...... In the further with more space that would be my chosen era for a round roundy
  6. Surprised they have binned the GWR 166, everything that is in that manky green seems to sell out......I suspect the reason may have revolved around the fact the RRP would have been higher than what most would be willing to pay for a long in the tooth moulding which IIrC wasn’t DCC ready
  7. Foxley sounds a bit posh for a stone depot to my ears... Godstone has a mundane urban ring to it which I think fits
  8. Not forgetting though that the Heljan item is apprantly out of production so there may no longer be support from the manufacturer
  9. Very true, but rather hard to do when working at 40000’ for 12 hours. Has to be something I can get through airport security l and won’t go off being in a suitcase for days
  10. Thanks again, Seems to be fairly unpredictable . Binds worst when both bogies are rotated in opposite directions, through two points - left and right. It doesn’t seem to be the NEM pocket binding. - I’ll try it on the wheel cleaner with rotating bogies - next step will be to take the body off and check the bogie tightness screws and the level of lub , and replace as necessary. - by brand new, I mean it was in a chaps collection and his next of kin put the lot on eBay, therefore it could have sat for three years without being used. It’s well out of warranty so it would be sent to Bachmann service if necessary
  11. Yes, even the healthy looking boxes in the us aren't , you gave to be very careful . I've managed to lose 50lbs since may on a combination of slim fast bars and actually using the free gyms in all the hotels I'm stuck in
  12. Interesting , pass the donuts..... The lower echelons/ less educated of society rely on fast food and eating crap generally....we are often paying for this as taxpayers , I’d ensure benefits can’t be spent at Mac Donald’s as a starter. Food vouchers only redeemable for healthy stuff.
  13. Thanks for the advice to date, both sets of wheels rotate fine, I tried it on my wheel cleaner thingy It happens only when it propels wagons in one direction through a crossover and two sets of points. It always the same end of the loco leading as the other end has buffer detail. A thought has occurred that what’s left of the NEM pocket may be bi nding on the airdam/ snowplough as the bogie turns I’ll have to go check that later . I had to remove most of it to fit it.
  14. Yes....and yes.... Doesn't appear to be that but if can't pull skin off a rice pudding
  15. Hi, I have a 66050 which is basically brand new and a real dog. It won’t pull anything through medium peco points at all, it slows right down with 5 VGAs . Everything. Else has no problems at all. The bogies seem to rotate ok, so it’s not that issue I don’t think. Any ore I send it to Bachmann ?
  16. Dcc is easy. The biggest frustration is getting some of the manufacturers bodies off to put the chip in, of course a fair few cone with those. Use insulfrog or the new unifrog points if you don’t want to wire frogs. I’ve used the former with brass rod to push points for 12 years with no problems.
  17. I hear you, I don’t have army experience but remember reading in Blackhawk down that the enemy ( high on khat ) could be shot several times with 5.56mm and keep going so they would have preferred something a bit meatier. Nice bit of Christmas spirit from me there.....
  18. It’s called a LWRC M6 carbine.” Approved personal purchase carbine of the DEA “ apprantly and also used by 22 SAS now it appears. It’s a derivative of the AR15, but then most “ Black “rifles are.
  19. Full bore shooting, mainly in the USA as I’m there most weeks.
  20. Or you could invest in some of the great but more expensive code 75 bullhead which has unifrog, which is kinda a half way house but can be wired as live if necessary
  21. 37251 in blue was mentioned, and I think that’s correct as I have one somewhere rebooted as 37116. Until it was pointed out I did t really notice it
  22. I agree James, I remember getting a tubby duff in 2003 I think when they came out. Both aerials had been knocked off in the packaging and it ran really badly. In fact I subsequently had about 6 and they never ran well....the big draw was all theliveries they used to pump out, much more than bachy
  23. Won’t feel quite so solid when the mazak starts to crumble...
