  1. If they monitor this forum .... there's a fair bit of support for the flush fronted 45. A loadhaul 37 ? Only ltd editions to date and hard to find Like the idea of the shed to commemorate 20 years of yinging ....how about a pack with 66001 and 66250 of even 779 ?
  2. What was the issue with the skirts rob ? Nose looks a bit like an aavrvark snuffling in the dirt to my eyes
  3. They do VDU monitors I think.....someone else did the clocks...bit I think out of production. Sclaescenes NSE signage pack appears to include the clock faces, so you could probably scratchbuild the little clocks and use them
  4. The first three were 37238 BR blue, 419 EWS and your one I think,,, as you’ve found out they were not the most accurate of shapes but some of the first wave of new mechanism models that heralded the new era...and arrived in 2003 I think. I have ltd edition 37142 in blue and I love it, although you can see the shape difference with the new ones
  5. Also model that period so also interested in seeing some stock...!
  6. Problem is my kommandant is low maintenance, a Dapol Class 08 would be about 2 years of hair dos for her so I can’t use the balance equation thing..... Sorry for thread creep, I’ll say no more
  7. Well, that’s true, I’ve never pulled at the Warley bar....
  8. Go to Flickr, Find Brian Daniels ( of this parish ), He has many detail photos in and around diesel cabs inc 37s
  9. Looking good, It’s amazing how many layouts have the” hello boys “ poster.... It’s the booby enthusiasts equivalent of a bus on a bridge I think...
  10. O gauge 08......almost, but my weathering skills aren’t up to the scale.....spend averted ....
  11. Scakescenes.com will make you up station signage in NSE. Railmatch do NSE red for lampposts Have a look at ten commandments website. I think it’s cast-in-stone.co,Uk or .com You can get etched fold up metal chairs of the time period, information displays etc. I briefly had a NSE themed layout so have mine in a draw somewhere
  12. I got diddled buying a radley bag. I had no idea there were so many fake websites proporti g to being them, and I was rushing as it was the last one.
  13. I would say from a commercial point of view, forget DMUs ,EMUS, ......personally I think people would only pay a premium for trophy items like locos. So, in my view , the most popular types of loco that have been done in a mediocre fashion or could do with an upgrade. Step forward Class 31,37,47,50,66. Nothing really wrong with the bachy 37,47 but they could be a rolls Royce standard version. However what will the market bare for cost ? Bells and whistles I’d go to about £200.....and there’s the problem as Bachmann sound stuff already has an RRp over that.

This will be a rather important release - I didn’t see many of these till I moved to Swindon , but I see a lot now. I’ve sat and watched Dapol making modern stuff. I could have used a 73 for some MOD traffic, but I wasn’t content with their liveries nor the response to problems. The 68 has little interest other than I’ve seen a few Chiltern loco hauled and very nice they look too, but then the livery cock up, however they seem to have put that right with spare bodies so maybe they are learning and progressing. I’d probably still be unwilling to fork out for a first release and I’d see how it was received first
  16. That makes perfect sense then, I just had a visions of a gold plated solution paid for by us , but it seems this is a necessity not a luxury
  17. More info would be handy ... Such as when and where was it stolen ? I think it’s a hand paint finish and I’m guessing the rest are still in china

Such blind faith, I’m hope you are right .
  19. I wonder about the economics of using 2 brand new locos on flask trains Is DRs still tax payer owned ? If so that’ll explain some of the stupid amount of tax I pay !
  20. I agree with most of what’s written. A better thread for me would be, “ what doesn’t annoy you about modelling ?” Still it stops me joining the cheese and soap collectors club
  21. HTV 21T hoopers survived until Dec 89, for coal to chinnor cement works
  22. I started with wagons, using railmatch frame dirt aerosol for the chassis. And then similar or roof dirt , on the basis of putting it on, wipe most of it off. The results were encouraging....but I’m loath to touch a £100engine. I now have an airbrush which I’ve had a year and haven’t touched .....I haven’t the time to practice and learn for the expensive stuff so I may end up using professional modelling services for that
  23. I always wonder, how the hell do they change a bulb ?
