  1. In their product photos , I'd be impressed if they could be arsed to actually put locos on the track ! I find it strangely unsettling looking at derailed locos
  2. Thank god for that I was quite afraid to open this thread...
  3. Widnes, Do you work part time for the Liverpool tourist board ?
  4. Nice. Seems you have enough stock to recreate most movements !
  5. nice work on the EWS wagons. I was adding some frame dirt to Bachmann sea cows and found the ideal accompliment was The tra LA LA song by the banana splits
  6. Yeah, I did they fell short. That's fine, I was only trying to avoid selling individual stuff in eBay , but I did in the end.
  7. Real terms ? Well that's like saying my car should be valued at the cost of sheet metal. Not really the same. Simply, if I buy a loco for £100 and hattons will sell it SH for 85 I'd expect 60 for it. But that my perception of what mark up is fair, they may have a different view
  8. I saw proper pictures of the mainline one on mremag, and it looked ok. tBh I'll still buy these two as I've been waiting along time for these, I didn't order the Dutch one as the mark up for sound put me off and I'm not really bothered about having it just yet.
  9. Does that apply to the mainline and EWs as well ?
  10. Although it may be housing a tamper, In ' diesels and electrics on shed -WR' it is most definitely listed as a shed for main line locos, and has 47104 beside it
  11. I'm curious as to who is buying these sets / collectors / people who travel on these things / people who have LT layouts ?
  12. I'm still eating fish fingers and angel delight ! Not sure if I prefer butter scotch or strawberry though..... Nice peak !
  13. Doesn't seem to have been such a problem at blue box as it was at red box for reasons already chewed over
  14. Yes yodel are to deliveries what Austin rover were to cars
  15. I think the modern way of doing things is great for the manufacturer but dire for the paying customer. Years ago, I used to buy stuff from the long lamented motor books in Oxford. They always had a ton of Lima locos ( that dates it ) and if I couldn't afford or didn't know if I'd need it yet, I could always go back months later with a fighting chance of still getting the product. Now with batch production that thought process has to speed up - if I think I may need something I need to get it like now. I could really do with stashing away some HST power cars but at almost £200 I can't stockpile for the future layouts. I've got a blue 4CEP I brought on a whim, but reluctant to move on as I may need it in the future. The only way stuff hangs around is if it isn't popular - like some of the recent class 47s then it gets in the hattons bargain pile. This isn't a criticsm of Bachmann, merely an observation , as it must be more efficient for them. And I'm waiting for my mainline 37 to come on the Shanghai express ......but I can wait.
  16. Ooh. Bit of a minefield of detail then 109 was probably the rarest mainline one , as it was re sprayed in EWS very soon after changing to mainline. That's a split box one though.
  17. It's good to know they are listening. For some reason I just had an image of Father Christmas with me sitting in his knee pop into my head.
  18. Nice wagon as ever ! I've just got my three VGAs out as my next plank is going to be around 96-98. Maybe one day I'll finish something
  19. Now I never spotted that on '032. Good eyesight !
  20. I'm just thinking what I can renumber the Mainline 37242 too when it comes out......167,074 maybe. A lot are ruled out by having headlight clips or marker lights.
  21. Fairford is just up the road from me, but it's lost a lot of its appeal since the Americans pulled out several years ago. I'm only interested in the fast stuff, not helicopters or trainers. I counted 7 fast jets last year. Couldn't cycle over this year as it was the wife's birthdays and we were at IMAX
  22. I was a tad shocked at how much I paid for the polybulks recently, £60 to me seems a lot for a wagon, but it is a very nice one. I guess we are a bit loco centric - I need to move on from the days of Lima 37s for £39.99 ! ( 1999). I'm looki gat the forthcoming class 37s and discounted they are £106. I think that is a fair price TBH ! This is discretionary spending folks, if it seems too much for you, don't get it. It's not petrol, food, water, gas etc.
