  1. Hi,

So last time I posted in here all seemed to be fix... Sadly not...

I can access everything using my android phone and Google browser. But if I try with either my laptop or tablet (both running on latest windows editions) I can't get on any of the topics I listed some posts back. It doesn't seem to matter which browser I use with windows either (Microsoft Edge, or Google Chrome)

Andy, I'll put my hand up to help.

    Many thanks Ian

  2. Hi Iain and John,

    Many thanks for your responses.

I think, well know that there will be a big difference in the sound as I worked on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite railway when FR20 was there. Granted it's an 0-4-0, but the sound was completely different to the Austerity (J94's) that were or are there.

I guess that another option may be if someone has recorded FR20!

    Thanks again

    Ian

  3. Hi,

Just hoping that someone might be able to offer me some help/advice please?

I have a Hornby Electrotren E0039 Sharp Stewart 0-6-0 Industrial Steam Loco. It takes a 6 pin decoder, but would anybody happen to know if or where I would be able to get a sound chip from that would be suitable for this loco?

Google hasn't been much use to me...

    Thanks in advance.

  4. Evening all,

So are the issues still seem to be ongoing for a select few members on a select few topics, or does anyone who has had the issues have access to all the topics again whilst you are logged in?

Just wondering, as I still can don't seem to be able to access the select few topics that I once used to read most nights!

    Many thanks

Nor Layout topics or Modelling musing either, it can't just be a fault on the site.

    Thanks Scots region,

Just tried Layout topics, and that doesn't work for me either.

I'm now starting to work though each topic menu to see which I can still access!

I'm not sure if it is a good thing or a bad thing that this fault is affecting a few of us?

    Kind regards

This sounds like it could be triggered by an individual topic. Maybe it was on page 2 yesterday and on page 1 today with a subsequent post? If so, what could cause it? An ignored topic?

Would you happen to have any Prototype Discussion topics ignored here https://www.rmweb.co.uk/settings/ignoredtopics/?

    Yes, I'm clutching at straws!

Err... Bad news is I don't have any ignored topics, and the worse news is I have discovered that it is the same with MM&M and Wheeltappers!

    Sorry, Ian

So interesting little update. I can now access page 1 of Prototype discussions without any issues when I'm logged in. Here ends the good news... Once I try to move to page two I get the same error message again!

    Still, it's progress

    Ian

    That didn't last long.

Can't get into it again today.

  8. Hi all,

My dad has got me a Regional Railways 31, and I plan on getting the stock for it! But I want to run it as I remember them on the Furness line.

A Regional Railways BSO, three Regional Railways TSO's and an excuse BFK.

Would any of you lovely people happen to know the numbers of any of the Regional Railways mk2 stock? And if possible, the numbers of a rake?

Whilst I can find plenty of photos online, you can't see the numbers!

    Thanks in advance.

  9. So... A little update

I have tried to access the UK Prototype discussion from the works computer (NHS) during my break today. It makes no difference, without logging in it's fine, but as soon as I login, it kicks me out!

I have tried everything that everyone on here has said to try, but nothing seems to help. I seems to be when I log in an issue is created...

So thanks for the help so far, and fingers crossed that Andy and the IT guy's can find a fix.

    Many thanks

Well I'm not sure what has been changed but I can now access the prototype forum while signed in. So now for a backlog of unread contents lol.

Thank you for the help in this matter

I hope it keeps working for you Gareth

Well... Having cleared all my browsing history and cookies again, it let me in so long as I wasn't signed in, then as soon as I sign in it kicked me out...  Also tried the wi-fi at work with my phone and no joy there either...

The issue seems to be when I'm signed in...

  11. Ok, so one little update to this issue... I have briefly managed to access the page I am wanting to using Google chrome on my laptop running on windows 11. This was without my being signed into the site. Here ends the good news... I stupidly signed in, then tried to get back on the page an it wouldn't let me, also signed out to try to get back on and it still won't let me...

The only other thing that II have not previously mentioned is that I am using Norton 365 on both my phone and laptop.

But I am still at a loss as to why it is only the one area that I can not get into.

    Many thanks

Could you also try in an incognito window or an alternative browser please?

     Hi Andy,

I have tried incognito on Chrome, I have tried normal Chrome and I have tried Windows Edge. All of them with me signed into RMWed and without being signed in. None of which work, I still get the same message. Likewise I have tried deleting cookies and retried all the above.

The confusing bit is it is only the one group of threads that I am having trouble accessing!

    Kind regards Ian

  13. Hi all,

I've been searching the internet for some decent photos of the staff coach and tool coach that accompanied to break down cranes in the transition period, i have found numerous photos of the Carnforth ones, but none close enough to make a model from to go with my Bachmann crane.

Do any of you lovely people happen to either have any that you are will to share, or be able to point me in the right direction?

    Many thanks

  14. I got mine yesterday, the green version. According to SHMBO it's to noisy! I am having to get used to controlling it. After one full lap of the loft I turned the control back to zero, it toon over a lap to stop! But I do like the cab windows and fans...

  15. Hi,

    Random question time!

Do loco hauled services conveying passenger's not have to have some form of guards/brake compartment within the formation?

I only ask as yesterday I saw the ROG's charter service from Chesterfield to Workington, all mk3 stock, but nothing that resembled a brake van within the formation. The outbound service had 2x37's on the front and a 57 on the back. The return service had all three locos on the front. But this is the first time I have ever noticed a loco hauled passenger service without a brake van!

I can't seem to find any useful answers on line.

    Many thanks

Odd that appliances attended from Carnforth, Silverdale, Blackpool, and Cumbria and not from Lancaster or Morecambe. Unless the last two were busy on their own patches at 06:00 in the morning. The part time crews do a great job much appreciated by their communities, although rather taken for granted.

Most local crews where dealing with the August floods in Lancaster!
