I see from WCR facebook page https://www.facebook.com/westcoast.railways/ they have a Colas 56 booked for Scarborough Spa Express on the 28th July 2016.
Are you having a trip to the seaside (or Carnforth to York) Jim?

So you seemed to make good time Jim. 54 late starting out and 47 early by the time up passed me. Not bad at all, but I have to say that that is one very quiet loco, didn't hear it until you where almost at me.
So they are Jim and 37025 passing Carnforth North Junction with the 0S25 Darby R.T.C to Bo'ness Junction Exchange Sidings
Thanks for the toot
Kind regards

Just a small question/thought, why does 97303 have what looks like a radioactive warning sticker next to the main headlight?
Nice photo's Jim

Managed to arrange my brakes at work so I could get down to see it, and I am glad I did. As I said to Jamie (who it was nice to briefly chat with), the photos on here are good, but they don't do it justice. To see it in real life it is stunning, and as for the size....
All involved with its building should be very proud of themselves.
Kind regards

I'm looking at catching the 10:04 Preston some point in the next couple of weeks, if your sat in the first coach can you hear the 37s thrashing clearly?
If you stand in the first doorway with the window down you should. Preston to Carnforth then Cark to Dalton I would guess to be the loudest sections

Sorry to see that you won't be with us Mike - I was looking forward to having a pint with you.
I'm typing this in the venue, as I have an hour to spare due to the carp bus service hereabouts, and I have to say that the local publicity is impressive and there are posters and handbills all over Lancaster at present.
Where is it again and what times please? I pop down
Thanks

Any relation to Fluff that was at Haverthwaite?

Is much happening at Carnforth now they are banned ?
To be honest I'm not to sure, they still seem to be doing some repairs/repainting, and shunting stock around the yard. You do hear the 03 whistles most days.

Yesterday I needed to nip into the model shop on the station, so didn't take my camera ...... Things were happening
First thing I noticed that was a lot of DRS action, early in the day 2C43 was hauled by the newly out shopped 37402, the day did not start well for it, and ended worse! There was no Guard at Carlisle so it worked ECS to Maryport, then 37402 started playing up and the service was terminated at Lancaster instead of Preston. Consequently 2C47 was then cancelled and 5C47 formed from Lancaster to Barrow, 37409 was summoned from Kingmoor and hauled it. We pick this you as 37402 was dethatched from the train and dumped at Carnforth. Fortunately, I had the camera on my, not the best but still
37409 after dropping failed 37402 into the sidings
I then turned to notice a strange site for Carnforth at the other end of the platform as the Royal Scotsman stock was been shunted out from WCR. During this exercise I encountered a stupid couple elderly couple how walked off the end of the platform ramp and down the four foot to take a photo of the end of the coaches that where been shunted out!
Having shouted them back and explained the danger that they put themselves in the man told me that the coaches have lovely wooden doors on the end and I should take a look! I reiterated their stupidity only for him to genuinely ask if they go back that way will they see the steam engines!!!!! What can I say
Anyhow, 2 class 73's where here and about to head back to Scotland
73968 is in the middle and 73969 leading
Whilst back in WCR yard 61306 seems to be missing a cab and boiler and 47772 seems to have made its way out and back into public view

I see from the pages of Facebook that 37402 is now out and about in large logo blue. And looks pretty good too......
Are DRS going for blue/gray livery again whilst bringing Scotland to Cumbria!!!

Ok. Some from Carnforth Station Jc. this morning
37423 on the 2C47 Preston to Barrow - in - Furness service
150118 on the 2Y55 Morecambe to Leeds service
An unexpected turn out was 48151 on the 5M51 Carnforth WCR to Hellifield and return on a lightly loaded test run with one support coach and a 47 on the rear. Some of the others abut seemed to be hopping for Scotsman!
And looking across to the yard at WCR
A very shiny 37685
A collection of 47's, but does anyone know which the faded blue one is that is just visible at the back?

A third DBSO has appeared on the Cumbrian Coast this week, 9710, so we now have a spare for maintenance! It didn't help last night when my train back from the pub was cancelled with it on the front. It did appear from the Carnforth direction as I walked home from the station though, so was ready for the morning run. Kev.
Just to add to Kev's post, I see from the pages of rail magazine http://www.railmagazine.com/news/network/2016/01/21/drs-to-add-third-set-for-northern-s-cumbrian-coast that a third set is coming out to play.

Slightly off topic... Grayhound bridge, the former railway bridge which now forms part of Lancaster's one way system and the A6 has been closed since yesterday awaiting a safety inspection today following the floods. Apparently a shipping container sailed down the river Lune and hit both bridges! Tha army were called in to assist my work mates to get to the Infirmary using some very big army trucks driving over the bridge. What a sight to be hold.

there is a subtle hint (hidden message) on this page somewhere!
DBSO?
I was thinking DBSO's but now thinking DVT's maybe? Or both?
Ian

What colour is it?
Cheers,
Mick
Or are they?
And do they have their own power unit built into them?
Kind regards

Well a small update.
Things haven't been moving very fast. Namely down to the fact of on my days off I seem to find other things to do. Having had a bit of a think I am aiming to get at least four hours worth of work done on the layout a week. This week I am winning......
- The cattle dock is completed and painted (just needs weathering)
- Some grass is down and hill sides in
Likewise, as per post 9, the bridge has been playing on my mind
The bridge was a bit narrow (note past tense!), so I have been busy removing the sides, and rebuilding them with a bit more room One side done, and well on the way with the other
Photos to follow

It needs a run with DRS 37401....

Hi all,
At 201mph that must be a world record for a class 37. Are DRS using rocket fuel?
Vin
Nuclear power apparently!
Coat on and running for the door..... again......

I had my first sighting of a DBSO in use last night. It took me by suprise. It was about 19.25 hrs and it was between Silverdale and Carnforth. Granted I was about a mile from the lineside, but it was motoring!
When I got home and checked RTT http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/O19766/2015/08/19/advanced it appears that what I had seen was 5C19 ESC Barrow in Furness to Carlisle Kingmoor via Carnforth, apparently this was formed by a Cl158 timed at 201mph! Not sure if I would want a trip on that!

Jim,
Are the DVT a bit strange to travel in? I mean, the way I imagine it fells like your sat in a loco, but without the noise of the engine?
Kind regards
