  1. Glory, Glory Man United! It's Carrington: This former flying junction once linked two Great railways:
  2. The south-east suburbs of Market Harborough on the old Midland mainline (the cycleway is part of the old LNWR): Next one; which despite the lack of anything much in the square is also on a mainline:
  3. It's probably no surprise to learn that we are in a conurbation - I think there are only 7 possible locations for you to check.
  4. How about a yellow station for a change?
  5. LLangennech to the NW of Llanelli: Another one to follow soon!
  6. Corby Tunnel on the old Midland line: Next up: The West - East line is a freight line and there's part of an old junction just for added interest.
  7. Now I know why I couldn't find it on the larger scale maps - this square is underneath the "Glasgow"!! Mike
  8. Wow - what a fantastic photo! Does this layout "stay at home" or is it on the exhibition circuit?? Mike
  9. Clue: The line curving from NE to SW is very much a main line.
  10. As nobody else has found it (or perhaps nobody else is playing!); to the East of Newton-le-Willows on the outskirts of Culcheth - formerly part of the GC Railway: Next one: Part of a former triple junction, with a bit of disused railway and a pylon line as well.
  11. Thanks - that bit of railway line made a lot of difference. The square to the NW of the original would have made a good "One Square" too.
  12. This one is proving elusive! Can I ask one question: if you zoom out one level from the 1:50k map, is the Golf Course symbol still visible??
  13. Another cutting and County boundary: Between a Poet (not old) and a clue on a Naval officer
  14. So - it was 108m!! Near Buckton Hall on the Brid to Scarbro' line - it's the County boundary between East & North Yorks
  15. Is that spot height really 1m or perhaps 1xxm??
  16. A former meeting point of three Railway Companies:
  17. Telford (Stafford Park); Next one tomorrow morning
  18. Sorry for the lack of "heavenly" clues to lead you to Paradise Junction - have been away soaking up the 60's atmosphere on NYMR this weekend.
  19. Next one: This was once part of a complex multi-way junction, the right hand line becomes disused on the next square.
  20. It's Christ's Hospital station: Give me time to find another
  21. Yes Barkston & Hougham junctions - didn't know of the association with Mallard but chose it as the shape looked fairly easy to find.
  22. You may think that but I couldn't possibly comment! To all One Squarers, how would you feel about a slight change to the rules allowing names in the square to be erased?? I've found some nice distictive junctions but there is a give away by each one. Mike
  23. It's Tonbridge: Next one: To the West is a terminus and two miles North another station. To travel by rail between them you would pass through at least 19 stations, three junctions and change trains twice.
  24. Correct For the record it is Park Lane Junction
  25. Another clue: The visible corner of this triangle can be found on a monopoly board.
