    40013 Mainline

I caught it at Winwick, on its return. It was dull, and ended up with a blurred shot. And a video.
  2. Another walk from work to the supermarket. Well another year on we have catenary. It is on the southbound line only. In the station it is held up by straps rather than registration arms. Will we see if an electric train appears before Christmas.
  3. They were in a box, so you could choose your own. As far as I am concerned - they COULD have been from E3001!
  4. They look like the ones I picked up from Collectors Corner, at Carnforth, in the 1970s.
  5. I ordered the last class 40. I have been looking at it, every time I went in the shop, but with an extra £10 off, it had to be done.
  6. The footbridge at the entrance to Fort William depot. Taken from the Jacobite, hauled by 45407, on 29th September 2017
  7. Did someone mention Hurricane? Here it is, at Bickershaw Colliery More weather?
  8. Do we need a J? How about Jönköping? (Edited for umlauts)
  9. I arrived at the first bridge at Euxton, to photograph the Cathedrals Express, 10 minutes before the appointed time, to find half the world had the same idea. So there is probably a dozen other people with a picture like this:
  10. Well, over a year later, we get a mast on the concrete bases. Looking south towards Buckhaw Parkway. And north towards Euxton jn.
  11. It will not be North Staffordsrire Railway new L no 2 either!
  12. It has only taken me 193 pages to figure out that Shakey, is slang for Shakespeare's Cliff. I must have thought they were two different places!

    Peco OHLE

I suspect that the Mk1 may have been chosen, over the Mk3, because there is no cross span wire on the Mk1. That could make fixing the catenary much easier.
  14. I am turning my two into Spitfire and...... Hurricane. Just added name plates I got from Ambis a while ago. I will be waiting for a DJ models version of the RT models Giesl ejector before I tackle the chimney.
  15. I was walking near Buckshaw Parkway station, and I noticed that a concrete mast base had appeared. Is there progress elsewhere? Picture shows the last remains of ROF Chorley station platform, and, on the far side of the pallisade fencing the concrete base.
  16. Thanks, brings back memories. When I was about 12, a couple of freinds and I were invited to footplate Hurricane, up to Abram exchange sidings, and back. It must have made an impression, as I am now building a layout based round the colliery. I just need Dave Jones to deliver a model (or two) of Hurricane.
  17. It puts a whole new meaning to tilting at trains!
  18. So it is June for the austerity tanks then. Ah well, at least it will give me time to: a, Finish my colliery layout. b, Save up the money to buy them, as I have just paid the balance for an APT-E.
  19. 47746 passed Buckshaw Parkway 7 minutes early.
  20. I phoned yesterday, as I had not heard anything. They were happy to take my payment for the balance, and promised delivery 'In a few weeks'.
  21. My favourite memories are: 1, Travelling the Oban and Mallaig lines around 1980. 37033 at Cranlarich. 2, Chasing 37s along the North Wales coast. 37421 at Chester locks.
