Lovely warm day up here in North Wales .....beauty autumn colours in the trees .....wonderful but.. unfortunately the 'Man in the ill-fitting suit' (the First Minister) says that the whole of Wales is closed so people cannot see the beautiful scenery .....rumour's are circulating locally that the Welsh Government have ordered that 'Owain Glydwr' be resurrected from his resting place just near here to patrol the Welsh border to keep the English OUT !!!!!....And I still haven't escaped yet

Another source of stock boxes for 0 gauge locomotives is Ellis Clark who sells some excellent single loco boxes. Refer to his site for details. One of the good things about the Wham boxes is the fact that the price is very reasonable.

Swindelton – inspiration from a challenge 7 years later!
gismorail replied to ChrisS's topic in 7mm+ modelling
The static grass system really does transform a layout into a real life scene and is in my opinion well worth the extra work involved. A little trick that I have found works well is once you have completed the static grass application on for example an embankment, is to very lightly apply some light brown acrylic colours in a spray gun over the grassed area which will produce those dried / dead grass effects that are often seen in such areas alongside railway tracks especially towards the end of the summer period and into autumn. You will need to do this in very light passes and build up the different colours by eye until you achieve the desired effect. -
B&Q are now selling 'Wham up-cycled' boxes in different sizes ...very strong and robust ...strong enough to strap to the back of my tractor unit and store ratchets and straps for load restraint

I seem to remember that the two bay platforms at Chester General on the East side (Crewe end )of the station along side the 'Red Star' parcels office ....always loads of platform trolleys everywhere -
This would certainly make a very interesting and unique model ...go for it

Yes a parcels depot would add a great deal to the layout though I'm not sure where you could locate such a facility but I'm sure you could find somewhere. Imagine the extra period road transport that you could include -

Some wonderfully inspiration modelling going on here Sir I've never seen such a formation in real life but it makes a very interesting modelling subject. Well done to Dave for some very fine modelling will look forward to the video when it comes out. -
Ade's 7mm layout: Malmesbury station
gismorail replied to Adrian Stevenson's topic in 7mm+ modelling
Surprised myself to be honest Ade. but having completed the renovations and the very hot property market I made the decision to go for it and it looks as if it's paid off....... the cottage that I am purchasing is much smaller but the garden is large so the added bonus to build a BIG model railway shed just had to be done ......sleepless night have now taken over as plans rush through my mind in the early hours .....
