  1. Thats my method, apply with swatter, leave to dry for a bit, rub balloon on wifes cardy, use to raise more fibres, once completly dry a suck over with the hoover to remove excess and stand the rest up.
  2. The grass on this post http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/92499-scalscenes-bridge/was done with a flyswat/T-strainer, I have used it with good results with up to 6mm fibres, haven't tried longer yet but did experiment with some cut up sisal hanging basket liner which is thicker and longer thatn 6mm and it made that stand up as well.
  3. Nice job on the Beamish box, did you know there is a free downloadable one here http://www.smartmodels.co.uk/products/railway-models/railway-buildings/free-signal-box
  4. How does the signalman get into the cabin, there seems to be a doorknob on the locking room door but not the cabin door :-)
  5. I built one of the Fairford line stations a couple of years ago, its in the loft waiting for a place on a layout, picture quality not very good as was taken with an old phone camera.
  6. Take the tyres off the bikes rims, put a long stabilizer with another rim on and run on the rails. :-)
  7. I have been using IE11 since it was first released and still am and have no problems with uploading pictures or anything else, problems tend not to be a single piece of software, more that an actual part of the system is not installed correctly, dotnet versions and similar can cause problems if not configured right.
  8. I am with Bike2Steam on this, one less thing to look out for when riding these days.
  9. Top of Portland I presume, think I have been on that very spot a few years back when on holiday For some reason the quote feature is not working for me I was referring to Mullies picture.
  10. Turret looks like the inside tube from embroidery yarn that they sell on our local market. Or it may be a cave dwelling miners mole helmet for tunnel boring.
  11. I have been mocked for suggesting the balloon in my previous post on this thread but as you have found it works and works well. I use rechargeable batteries in my fly swat as they stay at full power for longer but drop off quicker at the end, then cheap Poundland balloons, use the long thin ones for hard to reach areas :-)
  12. The old goods shed at Market Harborough station has sliding doors on the rail entrances that slide internally into slots at each end of the internal platform, when they are fully open you can not see any sign of the door from the outside, so you don't need to model doors. Used to work in it when I was with Cavewood Transport we used it as a warehouse.
  13. Them there Jenga blocks are really useful for using as squares when assembling buildings as well as other stuff when used with a blob of bluetac to hold them still.
  14. Here you go, knocked it up on Sunday afternoon, just needs weathering down but that will be when I find somewhere to plonk it on the new layout.
  15. You could try rubbing it over with dark weathering powders when built, or ground down artists pastel chalks, I have also had success in using a dark watercolour wash, but that would depend on if your printer inks are waterproof.
  16. I have started on a Windmill as well, better get a move on to finish it though.... http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/81294-the-windmill-has-arrived/
  17. Try the gauge on a piece of standard Peco track, that should tell you if its a 32mm gauge
  18. Not sure if I have put this up or not. Card and paper construction apart from the windows and wires round the windows.
  19. I don't think my dishwasher (the wife) would be too happy being asked to wash all these strange things.
  20. I have built the Smart Models free signal box and I thought the textures weren't too bad. As already stated you could re-cover with scalescenes if you want the finishes to match, to be honest I think a variation is better, not all buildings in an area are built with the same bricks or materials. I like the scalescenes stuff and have a few of the kits, the one thing I miss is a variation in the roofing texture, you can tell the scalescenes Grey Roof Tiles a mile off, I have now started creating my own roof textures for variety.
  21. I have two broken Android 10.2" Tablets purchased from China via amazon, the first one lasted about 3 days, the replacement lasted about a week, luckily got a full refund from Amazon. Delivery took around 3-4 days but I would not purchase anything electronic direct from China again. I did get the first one working again as the charger plug had come un-soldered from the main board, but it died again about 3 weeks later.
