  1. From experience the water needs to be hot to clean it up....
  2. As far as I know Smart Models is just a one man band (Brian Taylor, I think) so your query may take a while to be answered or if it was by email or contact form it could have been junked, I see there is also a Facebook page so you could try that if you use that.
  3. I also use those Willow Sticks as we have them as our Parrots like to chew them up...
  4. The Spray Mount is one that can be repositioned. They are good adhesives (albeit expensive) but you only need a very light even coat if sticking paper.
  5. I have carpet tiles down on my garage floor takes away the coldness of it nicely as they have a hard plastic backing, got them as cheaply as a job lot of seconds from ebay
  6. OK thanks, I am still thinking about it, will have another look at the weekend.
  7. The opening post says the pricing is from 11p per day, the cheapest option I can see from the pricing structure is 14p per day?

  9. Like rob D2 I don't rate Testers dullcote. I just use Wilkinsons own brand matt varnish either applied with a brus or thinned with water and put through the airbrush.
  10. You can also melt sprue by adding it to a spare bottle of plastic solvent (I used a old bottle of Revel Contacta cement) so that it glops down and can be used as a type of filler on other kits and models
  11. Looks like teddy bear fur clipped to shape with clippers or scissors, then dyed or painted with added flock etc. Shouldn't be too hard to replicate, just try a few test pieces, I think I have seen this method on Pete Watermans layout in the book about it, think its called just like the real thing.
  12. Did you use primer first? I always prime plastic kits before painting due to the problem you are experiencing.
  13. I use Cuprinol fence/wood paint - Dark Oak, very similar colour to the Halfords brown, brushed on straight from the plastic pot, no primer and it covers well.
  14. One of the platforms at Market Harborough is way shorter than the other and you have to be in certain coaches to be able to get off. Also when we were away at the New Forest the platforms at Sway are short and only take 3-4 coaches.
  15. I would drop it onto a coat of neat PVA and then mist it with water/meths and then apply a 40/50/10% PVA/Water/Meths mix in a similar way to laying ballast, the hole lot should go off solid so you can then paint or apply weathering powders
  16. https://www.scalelinkfretcetera.co.uk/?s=valance There are three types listed, not sure if they are what you are after
  17. A bread knife could be as good option, not as rough as a piecing saw
  18. I tried some on my shunting puzzle but had problems gluing it down so it stayed down, I used No More Nails, maybe a contact adhesive or the spray on type of carpet glue would have worked better as long as it doesn't dissolve the underlay. I stopped using it because of the glue problem as I then expected to have problems gluing other stuff to it. Maybe test the type you have will glue before using it as there seems to be many different types of underlay.
  19. I have never seen a circle in the window but I have seen plenty with a straight track on a shuttle, usually a Panier and single coach going forwards and backwards, one of my local ones at Wellingborough has one in the window.
  20. For that kind of thing I use either Gorilla Wood Glue or No More Nails wood glue, fairly good instant grab that you can re-position and initial set time is fairly quick.
  21. We used to use Klear for its intended purpose when our office had a vinyl floor, after a couple of weeks the cleaners mopping would have removed most if it and it would need re-applying so a scrub in hot soapy water may work.
  22. A wire armature to the correct shape and then a coating of fine flock and static grass for the needles/leaves
  23. A good trawl through this section of the forum and the card structure section would be a good start. Even though you say you want to use plasticard, there are some good construction methods in the card structure section that you can attach plasticard to.
  24. There is also the scalescenes one, that you could use as is or use as templates for scratchbuilding in plastic.
  25. Not the best picture, but this pond is just painted and then 3-4 coats of varnish
