  1. Just been sent home from work to go to the GP for a check up after getting a shock from a faulty water cooler at work. It's now all the Health and Safety reports I have to do as I'm the H&S co-ordinator.

Our taps are mixer taps - so not suitable as drinking water supply.

Is that classed as an "own goal"?

    4. Coombe Barton

      Coombe Barton

Rather an own goal than a student got it.

  2. 's secret purchase from Wigan revealed! Following a recommendation from Paul (halfwit) at the RMWeb summer meet in Derby bought a Hold and Fold (Thanks, Paul). Great exhibition as well.

Yes... The thing is that there are plenty of us that would do test builds for them if asked.

Things that bug me are 'fix X to Y' without any indication how, and an etch which gives no indication of what is what.

Chris at High Level is NOT guilty of this - he should run training courses for others.

The High Level Husky is an example of excellent design. I'm looking forward to trying one of his other kits.

  3. Major shelf collapse - get all the books away when the 6ft shelf above my desk decided it didn't want to play. Books now all over floor.

... to put on the floor. Then we said sod it, let's do it tomorrow and did what all academics do - had a sherry.

    3. Coombe Barton

      Coombe Barton

And after that (it was a largeish sherry) managed to spatter yorkie pud batter all over the kitchen as I lifted the zapper out to test that it worked. It did.

      RJS1977

That happened to me on my last evening in a previous (rented) house. Put some RMs on the shelf in my bedroom so I wouldn't forget they were there (and wondered why I hadn't thought of putting them there before as the shelf was just the right width). 2 hours later - large crash as the shelf collapsed! Fortunately the landlord didn't seem to mind too much....
