That happened to me on my last evening in a previous (rented) house. Put some RMs on the shelf in my bedroom so I wouldn't forget they were there (and wondered why I hadn't thought of putting them there before as the shelf was just the right width). 2 hours later - large crash as the shelf collapsed! Fortunately the landlord didn't seem to mind too much....

Has learnt a new language today. Got in to work this morning to find that a ballcock on the fourth level had malfunctioned, flooded that area, come through the loo ceiling in level 3, ditto for level 2 and dropped down to level 1, the ground floor. My office was flooded to three inches. Written off 3 PCs – haven’t been let back in yet. Fortunately I’ve been operating from a laptop. And the language I learned? Quack, quack, quack, qu...

Had eight to ten people pulled off other jobs to clean up today. Fortunately as it was caused by plumbing it's not my direct responsibility

at an engineering firm I used to work for we sent a YTS lad from drawing office to stores for a long weight, after runnaging around for 10 minutes storeman tells him he can't find one and "would a short one do?" - lad toddles back to us and we say yes and send him back. Storeman makes him wait another 10 mins!
