  1. They look brilliant! So glad I've pre-ordered 60103 now
  2. I'm not an O gauge modeller, but the attractive price has persuaded me to pre-order an LNER Green Flying Scotsman. I'm sure it's going to be a great model!
  3. I decided to order one of the 'aftermarket' sound decoders with the double speaker option. I'm assuming that the decoder just plugs in as normal, but would someone be able to tell me where the speaker wires have to be connected to in each of the power cars?
  4. The Bennie Railplane test track was actually based in my hometown (Milngavie - a northern suburb of Glasgow). All that survives, is the old shed, which is now the base for a timber merchant. The only additional sign it was ever there, is a small blue plaque beside the timber merchant, and across from a well known Mc.fast-food outlet. The whole principal of the Bennie Railplane, was that it would be built over existing routes, with the railway being reserved for freight, and the railplane for passengers/fast parcels services. Bennie went bankrupt in 1937, though had he received the required finance, routes could have been built between Edinburgh and Glasgow; and Blackpool and Southport.
  5. It appears so, yes. The overhang isn't very noticeable at 'normal' viewing distances. When I come to add crew I'll see if I can improve the position but it doesn't detract in anyway from the appearance of the loco.
  6. Just had this delivered by the postie. This is a stunning wee model. DJModels and Kernow have done a great job capturing the character of the class. The addition of headcode discs, etched nameplates and airbrake pipes really set the model off.
  7. Just taken delivery of my KGV. Well done Locomotion and Hornby for producing such a stunning model.

    Hornby P2

Thanks for all the advice. I've decided to get a new P2 sound chip from Digitrains. From a video on youtube, it sounds much better than the TTS chip and will hopefully be a simple quick-change act

    Hornby P2

Having been able to pick up one of the TTS P2s recently, I've noticed that the exhaust beat doesn't match with the wheel revolution of a 3 cylindered loco. Has anyone been able to play with the CVs of the TTS decoder and adjusted them to give a more realistic exhaust beat? If so, which CV(s) and to what value(s) should I set them?
  10. Looking great Dave! Can't wait to get my hands on the 2 I've got on order. You've done a really great job on these and the wait will be worth it I'm sure.

    Hornby K1

My R3243A had no running plate warp.

    Hornby K1

Having received my K1 today a renumber was in order to give 62005. A coat of satin varnish, matt black smokebox, lining on the cylinders and fitting the detailing components really brings out the best of the K1. (ps. pictures taken on phone in a hurry)
  13. There's a quick review of the Railway Children train pack in HM91 out today on pages 86 & 87 and included are photos of the production run pannier, GNSR (LMS) period 1 coaches and Oakworth station building. A very nice looking pack.
  14. After looking at the pictures on Rail's website for the ambulance train pack it seems to bode well for the Railway Children pack which hopefully won't be far away seeing as, according to Bachmann's website, both packs have the same availability date.
  15. In the 0-6-0 market, Bachmann may (hopefully) consider the NBR C class, later LNER/BR J36, since the sole surviving example "Maude" has in the last week returned home to the Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway, and she, along with other members of her class, spent time in France during WWI. So, when her restoration is complete, hopefully in 3 years time, Bachmann, or indeed Hornby, have a reason to make this handsome looking loco.
  16. A Bo'ness and Kinniel Railway wish list from me: J94s WD '75254' and ,just about to re enter service, NCB No.19 LNER J36 'Maude' in NBR black LNER D49 'Morayshire' CR '419'
