  1. I see Freightliner have had a shed painted in ONE groups pink livery. Pics to follow when I set eyes on it.
  2. Hi all, how would you go about "unclassifying" a coach? For example a Mk2 FO into a lounge car for the Scottish sleepers? Would you just remove the 1 from the doors? Or is there structural work that needs doing? TIA Pete
  3. Yangming use Florens, Beacon, Triton, Tex, Seaco and CAI lease boxes. Most have a single Yangming logo on the top left of the back of the box. Pete
  4. They need something to hold them in the raised position yes. Pete
  5. I decided to see if I could make one of the above machines lift any container. While the container stays where it is the rams on the boom won't hold the weight. Pete
  6. There was a similar container yard at Selby. Mainly dealing with MSC boxes, all that was used was a pair of the Konecranes lifters similar to the one modelled by Oxford Diecast. Unfortunately the last time I was up there all that was left was the tracks. Pete
  7. There are also some lease boxes about operated by Yangming that just have a small Yangming logo on the lefthand door. Pete
  8. Part of what I run around with. Mislaid the back half somewhere. Pete
  9. There are still a few about. I can think of 2 that work out of Southampton and I'm sure there are some that work out of Felixstowe. Pete
  10. Can anyone tell me please if the conversion kit for the generator van is still available? and if so who makes it? I've tried searching on this site and via google but to no avail. Regards Pete
  11. To be honest I'm not sure . I have checked the rollers and they seem ok. Pete
  12. Hi all. I have here 2 rolling roads. One is the Hornby version with all it's limitations, the second is the Ten Commandments version. Now while I like the idea of the Ten commandments version I am finding that the Hornby version (a) takes less power to start things moving and keep them running. (B) is considerably quieter. I have tried my Kernow Beattie Well Tank (arrived this morning) on both and it's working and running better on the Hornby rolling road. does anyone have any idea why this might be? Pete
  13. Did some of these wagons only have 3 cradles instead of 5? I purchased a second hand EWS version and it only had 3 cradles with 3 coils. Pete
  14. DP2 lives again. Thank you guys for all the help and tips. I do have video but the file is too big to upload. Pete

  17. Hi all I have here 2.75 Hornby Class 60 60081. Basically I bought one that took a dive off the table and self destructed, I found parts 4 feet away from where it landed, some are still awol. I then bought a second that was in good nick, then a third popped up with a good chassis but not so good body so I was able to make 2 from 3. The chassis on the second one seems to droop at the ends so the buffers are almost pointing downwards and the contacts on the lights are only contacting intermittently. There's a gap of around 1mm at the very ends between body and buffer beam. Has anyone else come across this? And is there any way of straightening things out? TIA Pete
  18. That was exactly what the problem was. A little bit of alignment and DP2 is running nicely on the rolling road. Thank you. Pete
  19. Hi all I've been doing some research into the Intercity/Mainline class 37/4s, one source says there were 16 yet I've found pictures of 2 others not listed there. Can anyone please tell me how many were actually in that livery? Also can anyone tell me which name 37402 carried in mainline livery? Oor Wullie? Bont Y Bermo? Or both at different times? Tia Pete
  20. There's often at least 2 at Freightliner Southampton. Next time I'm down there I'll try for some numbers
  21. My Hermes are about as much use as a handbrake on a canoe. I once had 2 parcels left in my recycling bin that got recycled before I got to them! In that case the courier was "retrained" . One got left in my cupboard, unfortunately it was a neighbours cupboard. As for having parcels delivered to work, if a parcel is scheduled for Friday or Saturday delivery it invariably won't turn up til Monday despite the office being manned 24/7. I've now taken to using click and collect where I can.
  22. Hi all Which of the mainline (intercity) liveried class 37/4 loco's had black headcode boxes. I can think of one which was from memory 37405 (?). TIA Pete
