To find a proper Cumberland sausage to enjoy is a task in its self.
If your ever on your travels try the sun Inn at Dent. The ONLY place you'll find a true tradional Cumberland. Inch & half thick & the length of ribblehead viaduct it's a beast & it's cooked by someone else for you to enjoy ; )
Thanks for the tip, Simon. Just being able to visit the Sun Inn would be a considerable pleasure in itself, let alone being able to partake of the excellent cuisine you describe. I do recall a very nice steak sandwich at The Sportsmans Inn, in Dentdale, though, many years ago.
I've not been there, that's the one down the valley near the road to the station isn't it? & if your ever in that neck of the woods & fancy fish & chips you cab do no better than the fisherman at settle. I make a 38 mile round trip when I want fish & chips I won't go anywhere else ; )
