  1. In that case, and assuming that you buy BRM regularly and have £50 or so going spare, it makes considerable sense to take out a subscription at £4.23 a copy, which is good value and may well be what Warners want people to do. As I have no great interest in either garden or narrow gauge railways I certainly wouldn't pay £9.99 for a bagged copy in the shops.
  2. If you have a look at the subscription renewal form, and indeed in the publication details within the magazine, you'll find that there's a telephone number for enquiries, so no need for snailmail. I'd give them a ring and ask for a replacement copy. Like you I'd prefer the magazine to be delivered in the cardboard backed envelope formerly used, but having said that all my magazines have arrived in good order.
  3. I'm a bit confused (not uncommon these days). You say that the print edition in a bag costs £9.99 in the shops, but in the first post Steve says that the print edition is available mail order for £5.49 including postage which seems pretty good value. There must be some difference somwhere that I haven't spotted?

  8. I wasn't aware of the lifetime warranty which is good news, as is the excellence of AS support. However, I hope that by converting the model to P4 I don't invalidate the warranty - presumably I won't if I use AS own "drop-in" P4 wheelsets?. In any event I'm heartened by what the above posters say and look forward to receiving my hopefully flaw free model in due course.
  9. I've got one of the latest batch of 37s on pre-order and anticipate receiving it in the next couple of months or so. However in view of all the comments about problems of one type or another that so many people appear to have experienced with their 37s I'm rather beginning to regret it. I only hope that steps will have been taken to ensure that the problems encountered in previous batches will have been recognised and resolved in the latest batch.

  17. What I rather fear is some kindly and well-meaning relative thinking "He likes trains, he'd like one of these" and presenting me with one. One such relative did once hint along these lines and had to be rapidly (and as politely as possible) disabused of any such option.
