  1. Didn't make any difference at first but now the birds are using copper & non copper feeders. One of the reasons I changed feeders was that, although they were starting to corrode away, I caught a rat feeding from seed in the middle of the day. It was climbing the pole. Having replaced the 4 pole-mounted feeders with just one pole with all feeders and water on it I could have a squirrel Baffle: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61pCDvxnwtL._AC_SL1500_.jpg This would also thwart the rat(s) I decided to review the trail cam footage for the previous month and my suspicions were well founded, a rat had visited a feeder virtually every day during March, at night.☹️ Hopefully no more.
  2. Yes I get that with VRF. If I click it I am subscribed. However I get this with Live Trains cameras: Absolutely no text under the streaming window. But there this subscribe button right at the bottom of the pages: However clicking "Subscribe" does nothing, even with an e-mail address
  3. If you have the funds, you could have a miniature lever frame, positions detected by a DCC input module and the result passed, via DCC accesory bus, to point decoders. near the points. I just use switches on a screen!
  4. That's different to what I see There is no button to click when on a feed, anywhere! The only one is on the information at the bottom of the page, complete with e-mail box.
  5. Sorry for the misunderstanding. No I'm not questioning it at all. It confirms even more the location, with the land on the East Bank closely matching that in the OP photo.
  6. How do you subscribe? On live Trains site there is a box for an e-mail address and a button alongside to press to subscribe. I entered an e-mail address and hit subscribe, but nothing happened!
  7. In the original photo there are what looks like bunkers, I assume the buildings are for the green keepers equipment, now replaced with something more modern. The Golf course has been there a very long time and the course hasn't changed much since the 1920s (their info) apart from keeping the sea at bay.
  8. If Dawlish Warren it must be no later than early 80s as the 46s went early in the 80s
  9. Could be taken from a train in the platform loop looking north, with the up main starter and possibly what is now Warren Golf Club on right?
  10. I would guess that could be the sea or an estuary in the background and the signal is a BR(W)/GWR LQ one.
  11. A rather smart pair in St Louis 10 mins ago:
  12. Yes I'll swap some feeders over, although there was a little activity around the fat balls, also in copper.
  13. I wouldn't say vast, but various polls do show a overall majority. However whilst Inner London residents are greatly in favour, those in the outer boroughs have a majority against.
  14. I'm now on a different PC and still no luck The menu page doesn't show Illinois as a state with a camera, do you get the same screen?
  15. I've tried several times today, including just now and it was off.
  16. I suppose you can't house the Alstom 730s in Siemens depot at Kings Heath (N'hampton).
  17. You can convert an insulfrog point into a psuedo electrofrog by doing this: I wouldn't use it with any short wheelbase 4 wheeled locos as there is too much plastic and a risk of stranding, but should be fine with diesels & large steam locos
  18. A stupid idea, easily defeated. The council could employ a person with a bat license, who could inspect the boxes to check of any bat activity and if none, seal the entrance and the council could remove the boxes.
  19. I've been thinking about this. Is there any reason why I can't use wifi to log onto the website and then receive an SMS via the 4G to the phone and enter that whilst logged on via the wifi? That way I wouldn't be using minutes from my mobile account each time I log on the surgery website.
  20. I've recently changed my feeding station. I originally had caged feeders on poles and the small birds readily entered the cages to get at the various things on offer. Having had to evict a rat on several occasions and with the original feeders starting to decay due to rust I decided to go for a brand new set up. I've now got A multi hooked pole with 5 hooks for hanging feeders on, a couple of water trays and mesh dish for things like mealworms, there is a baffle to stop rodents pole climbing activities. 3 of the feeders are brand new and came with the pole and they are bright copper finish. One feeder is an old one which is plain cast metal and plastic tube. The birds hesitated at first but after about 4 days the old feeder with mixed seed in had up to 5 birds at a time and was completely emptied in 2 days. The copper ones with sunflower seeds and peanuts in haven't had a single customer! Is it possible the bright copper puts them off?
  21. Here's the Beatles original (which was nicely parodied by John Fred & His Playboy band as "Judy in disguise with Glasses")
  22. Do you know that you shouldn't crimp that type of cable with the sheath cut back that far, it should be held in the plug's cable grip when it has been crimped? I would be wary of it's possible lack of longevity.
  23. So did I, It arrived this morning. Unfortunately Hornby have missed the mark again. Instead of the smell of Welsh Steam coal taking you to those wistful valleys with long lines of idealised miner's hovels, overlooked by mounds of slag, I get the horrible smell of Lancashire coal and of those satanic mills with chimneys belting smoke and streets full of people so thin they look like matchstalks. Sorry Hornby, wont be buying again..........😁
