  1. No buzzing on mine under any conditions. The transformer is a Switched Mode Power supply, 240V AC in, 18V DC @ 4A out. If this isn't providing 18V and it's buzzing then get it replaced. Regards, John P
  2. Sorry Terry, wrong forum OOPS! A number of us have seen this problem. It is caused by the Shaped metal retaining clip that is under the bogie not being clipped in properly. To fix, remove the bogie, take look down the underside of the wagon, you'll probably see that one side of the H shaped clip is slightly too high. press down hard with a small screwdriver on each corner of the retaining clip, if it isn't flush, you'll hear a small click as it fits into place. That should solve the problem. Regards, John P
  3. Terry, Read Paul Cheffus' and my earlier posts. Remove the bogie, check the H shaped retaining plate underneath is flat. Regards, John P
  4. What he said. DO NOT connect the Z21 router to your home network, the Z21 is designed to work on its own Wifi network. Connecting to your home network is for super advanced networking people. Regards, John P
  5. Let's hope that the STVA car carrier is the yet to be announced new wagon! John P
  6. "It's always tease, tease, tease. You're happy when we're on our knees!" With thanks to The Clash John P
  7. I think that its harder to retrofit sound in N. But I've ordered my Pendolinos and my 320 with DCC sound and I'll do the same on the 92's. I also went for the most current liveries, hence DBS and GBRF. If Caledonian sleeper becomes an option I might well get one of those instead/as well. John P
  8. Hi Dave, I just expressed interest in two. One question. How will you deal with international orders? Thanks, John P
  9. With a layout that size you should use GPS for loco detection :) John P
  10. Finally got chance to see the prototype at the NGS AGM, it looks stunning and I can't wait for mine to arrive. Had a nice long chat with Mike as well, it's nice to be able to meet people in person after chatting with them online. As others have said 'Keep up the good work, Mike and Ben'. Regards, John P
  11. Both wrong. Send them to members who are furthest away first John P
  12. Technically it doesn't corrupt it. The Roco supplied router is smart enough to see that its pre-programmed address range is already in use so it creates a new set of addresses to use. Unless you are network savvy it's best not to connect the Roco supplied router to your home network. Regards. John P
  13. You dont need to connect to your home wifi. If you follow the Roco instructions it will setup a new wifi network, then you just select the Z21 network from your tablet or phone. John P
  14. Haven't seen the email. I'll check with them tomorrow Thanks, John P
  15. I would agree regarding the pojnts. I have 36 on around 6 screens. But I think it is easier to see which point I'm operating on the Z21 than having to remember which on to operate on a hand held 'throttle style' controller. Regards, John P
  16. Hi, Here's what you need to do First of all I'm going to number the points to 'hopefully' make things clearer. Point 1 is the top left point, 2,3 & 4 are the other 3 on the top most line Point 5 is the first point on the bottom line that leads to the kick back siding and 6,7 & 8 are the points in the loops First you need to put power to the left of point 1 AND between points 5 & 6 otherwise you won't be able to power the kick back siding. This means that you will need to insulate between points 1 & 5 In the loop, point 6 to 8 needs insulating as does point 7 to 8, 6 to 7 can be left as is. Points 2,3,&4 don't need insulating. If this is N Gauge then it doesn't matter if its DCC or DC, the only consideration being that on DC you could only run two locos as you only have 2 independent power feeds. I have been told that for OO Peco Electrofrog points need modifed for DCC, but as I model in N Gauge, I don't have any personal experience. Regards, John P
  17. Hi Mark, I wondered about the PM! Anyway I replied to that but might as well put it out here as well. Would it be cheaper to make the boxes as a kit of 6 parts? Regards, John P

    Peco & Piko

I always assumed Peco was 'P Co' as it's the Pritchard Patent Product co, the clue's in the name. John P
  19. Hi Maurits, Just read through the whole thread and this is awesome. Regards, John P
  20. Just to reinforce what others have said. I use an IPad and the app is much nicer that that for the iphone. It sometimes gets confused if you have to hit the emergency stop but other than that it works fine. Regards, John P
