  1. Good selection 4mm and 7mm Dry Rub-on transfers now showing on : http://www.railtec-models.com/index.php There is also a "tell me more" link on each item page explaining the pros and cons vs waterslide - excellent information - thanks Steve!
  2. The picture of 68 001 on the DRS shop website shows the 'bad' side with the misplaced printing....
  3. DCC Supplies, the Dapol Service Agent, have in the past sold 'substandard' items (possibly returns?). Have called in a few times and picked up some real bargains from them. http://www.dccsupplies.com/cl-325/Dapol-outlet.htm Also they have loads of spares listed (nothing yet for a 68). http://www.dccsupplies.com/cl-734/Dapol-oo-spares.htm
  4. Just a thought but the body needed to come off to fit your 6 function decoder AND reset the switches on circuit board!?!
  5. My 68005 arrived today and opening the box was with more than a little trepidation! What greeted me was an almost absolutely 'perfect' model with no visual glue marks, misplaced name plates, paint defects. running was flawless - perfect apart from that glaring totally inexcusable livery error. How can Dapol get is so wrong when the obvious level research that has gone into producing such an almost perfect model. I was tempted originally to try and get hold of the DRS 68001 limited edition but decided that paying £200 for a limited edition DRS loco from DRS themselves who quote as part of the specification "Finely printed and highly detailed graphics" but no mention that some of the graphics are actually incorrect but they do show the graphics error on their website picture. Sorry Dapol a fantastic loco spoilt by a that silly stupid error. $65k question - am I sending it back because of the error - no, like many others I will have to live with it........that is unless someone like Railtec can come to the rescue with a set of shaped transfer overlays, now there is a challenge!
  6. Try this link for some pics : http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?f=001WoLGMd8RG2TwpGrnnEOdyvW1cHgN_WRGjvss9UazCVGf3Qp1ZZxXYaPQq4aazbplT9o_j_6NdMsLl3B2V3sI0ZCvEsjKt7ZQ_K5Q7yjUo_RShDt5TMmKuOwjNe4k4tZhjU2rxWliGwOwdfeqdt_Q64qJQJf6jO9ZB19pZ8122sJ6sqatQBhC8H0FJst7aKcSj-IbepBRWoDGF3Lbtla-hsTdqtPS0xWJnaGZ7rpWZdYcwOOnW7LDef9PpL4qabh0ukIvFHF5ERzpUkI6BGbHULfDgu5LZJvZG9lEC2iGkRrJg6bMkQj3f9etN332vJO3XrTqoldN1FY=&c=DOe3ijBWAEV7jwteqUeKBRz75dTv9VNAOf-jLfGR0DN1T9SuYpvVxg==&ch=RdFEh0Tgp05z3u07Dv_0-vk0LAxad-miCJp1Kt3J2n6Ldj8tGDt6cQ==
  7. Looks like 42968 is in final BR condition before it was withdrawn, not as rebuilt / preserved on the SVR.
  8. Locomotion are also releasing commissioned editions of both 66779 and 92220?!? Are they really commissioned or just the standard Bachmann versions in Locomotion packaging? http://www.locomotionmodels.com/british-model-railways/oo-gauge-ncim-reservations/reservation-only-class-66-evening-star.htm http://www.locomotionmodels.com/british-model-railways/oo-gauge-ncim-reservations/reservation-only-class-9f-92220-evening-star.htm
  9. When I first saw the topic title I thought someone had commissioned a 4-REP.........
  10. For those still looking Hereford Model Centre still show 3 H&P's in stock..........
  11. That does not sound good, I hope it is not another case of 'Heljan Dying Motor' syndrome, Get it back to Hattons, don't risk it burnng the motor out although I think the motor may already be on the way out.....
  12. My 1368 arrived yesterday, checked it out and found no visual defects other than those protruding buffer heads and it ran OK. When I checked the back to backs and pickups I noticed that the wheels / axles were rather tight in the chassis so released the keeper plate screws slightly and the running qualities improved quite a bit, very quiet and smooth. I will give it a better running in session after Christmas and fix those awful buffer heads. I tried Bachmann short NEM couplings and the height seems about right compared with my homemade coupling height gauge. Sadly looks like typical Heljan lucky dip quality yet again with just some of us getting a good one but the big question is how long will even the 'good' ones last?
  13. 34 H&P's in stock at Hereford Model Centre at £85! Well recommended as they test and certify every loco - brilliant service! No connection other than a very happy customer.
  14. Could it be that despite all the assurances they have been fitted the wrong driving wheels?
  15. Think my money is on a 'spotty' Scotrail 156......
  16. I hope those of you that have got a Wickham have seen the warning about DCC controllers - it says : "Do not run the Wickham Trolley as an 'analogue' item on a DCC system (DCC Address 0, or 10 on E-Z Command as the motor will be permanently damaged by the DCC signal" I read this just in time.......... BIG question - does this mean that it CANNOT be chipped for DCC - answers please?
  17. I'm really looking forward to seeing something in the flesh, not sure my wallet will like the asking price though. For me 2017 is going be a very selective year of purchases, only the best are going to make it onto on my list. I trust Charlie to get it 'right', not so sure about some of the other manufacturers though based on some poor efforts this year.....
  18. I suspect the next Peckett run (2017-18?) will retail around the £100 mark or even higher....
  19. 32-992 Wickham in BR Engineers Yellow is due into Kernow on Monday..........the wait is over!
  20. I wonder if the body of the blue/grey versions will have the end steps removed?
  21. My local shop suspects that there will be another double figure increase when 2017 prices are finalised.....he was not happy chappie!
  22. I wonder what Bachmann will do with the EFE tube stock,it would be good if they were re-engineered as running models.
  23. Cynic that I am but could it be that rails have accepted pre-orders that have now exceeded their allocation so they raise the price to tempt people to cancel?
  24. Engineering prototype pics up on the Bachmann website. http://www.Bachmann.co.uk/details.php?id=332
