  1. Enjoying seeing this, I was put on to it today, Love that part of railway. Good work mate! Going To N myself next and will be out in a garden building with it Highland Mainline 1993 Summer is my aim with Findhorn viaduct featuring somewhere. J
  2. Have seen this a while back on here but never commented, I like the way it's a terminal but has a bit of running line with a junction. Buildings and scenery are well done also. J
  3. I don't need loads, maybe 7 or 8 different formations for the period I am modelling. Some kit bashing will be required (OTAs) and respraying otherwise it will be very low on traffic or very unauthentic.
  4. I am currently on to planning a Scottish 90s N layout, procuring the stock is proving to be a headache. Should I go for an old 158 or save my pennies for the new one? Looks like it's a long way off anyhow?
  5. My extension plan was to build two more 4X2 ft boards and have a sector plate long enough for a Super Sprinter DMU to enter stage left and could go into the wheel lathe or onto the fuel road. I am now scuppered as I dont have 16ft to play with. Plan B will be a indoor plan similiar to what I have already and a hatch into the Garden for a 15-20ft run along the fence on a gradient. J
  6. I have attached a couple of shots. One is an end to end and another above the traverser. The traverser fits a full size loco or shunter and a wagon or two depending on size with a few inches extra some kind of temp extension to the traverser could be attached perhaps for longer stuff. Its hard to get decent pics in the room its in and the light is poor in there. I will take some more when its moved downstairs for a bit while the decorating goes on. I got exiled from Liverpool once to Milton Keynes/Rugby for work reasons but back in West Derby now. J
  7. Latest loco done. 37430 in 1990 condition. Got to take the layout down for decorating now during a week off work. J
  8. Mine will probably look more primative than that I'm going to put a Peter Clark traction motor in the hollow space on the board which looks kind of like a machine from a distance.
  9. Cheers. Yes the lathe could see absolutely anything rock up. Will need a skip indeed and model the swarf too. Am a signalman in day/night job so its nice to have a different railway practice to model. John
  10. Best of luck with your plans, I had wished to go double to 16ft but the person who is required to be obeyed has other ideas for the garage I had wished to convert. Will stick with the 8x2 ft for now and have been sort of ok'd to do something unobtrusive in the garden (quite how sound fitted 37s are to blend in to a quiet garden is to be worked on..) John
  11. Hi Rob, Peter Clark models was the source for the point levers, I have a phone box to make also soon. Have seen your layouts great work and helped convince me I could have mainline rolling stock in a small space and make it interesting. John
  12. Skytrex TTA finished and awaiting weathering. Completed bridge can be seen on lower picture. John
  13. Will be watching with interest looks a good plan! John
  14. May get a 40 one day but will be after a few other locos are obtained. 47 and 56 on pre order but have been working on the scenery stuff and refraining from buying stock for now. Am starting to enjoy the results of the work so far. John
  15. Messing with filters on my phone....37426 in the RR headshunt on Terence Lane. John
  16. Bit more work done between the end roads on Terence Lane. John
  17. Some shots of the work in progress. Ballasting done now some work on a hard standing at the back and some more work on the lathe building. John
  18. It's starting to look a bit more like a railway on Terence Lane. 08916 poses on the fuel road. John
  19. 08916 now done for the layout. Underway is ballasting and some work on the lathe shed on the layout also. No pics of the ballasting as it's poor light in there and work in progress.
  20. Wheel lathe pit dug out and fitted. Lots of sawdust about now to clean up! John
  21. First loco done for Terence Lane. 37426 Vale of Rheidol in Large logo. Took some shots outside as the lighting in the box room which the layout sits is poor. Thanks John
  22. Not much progress construction wise of late, however bits are being obtained and 37426 is sound fitted (pictured) now and is being weathered next. I'm going to scratch build a road over bridge and the wheel lathe building. Also one eye is on a room move to double the length so design for that is occurring. A Peter Clark fuel point and telephone box (remember them!) has come also. Plenty to get my teeth into! Thanks John
  23. Great work! Many memories of 37510 on the Sleepers north of Edinburgh. Also once on a daytime service up the Highland Mainline. John
