  1. Hello, Please excuse if this type of question has been asked before ...... I am wanting to model the Bournemouth Belle in the late 1950's early 60's Firstly what was the formation of the rake, what type and how many of each etc , Obviously I appreciate it may vary. As far as modelling goes, what is the best way to proceed, given that 'Golden Arrow' coaches are out of my budget. Are there kits available, or do readers think it is better to go with RTR stock ? If so can these been detailed to improve the finished model ? Are there any books available on the various Pullman coaches ? Realise the question is quite wide, I am just after as much information as I can get. Have a couple of loco's waiting to pull the finished model...... Many thanks, Ian
  2. Already a good model available in my opinion ....
  3. The Fell looks absolutely stunning, please put me down for one. the last prototype model !
  4. Thanks, yes I have already used Narrow Planet for a few projects, in my opinion brilliant service and quality. The devil is in the detail ! Many thanks, Ian
  5. Thanks for that, the photograph answers all of my questions. Cheers, Ian
  6. Hello, I am in the process of having a North British Loco 0-4-0 Shunter (D2900 - D2913) built. My question is concerning the works plates on these Shunters, I seem unable to find any clear photos of the plates ? The questions, I have what information and in what format was on the plates ? * Year Built ? Works Number ? Works location ? etc, etc. In all honesty just require ALL information about the works plates for this small range of shunters ? Many thanks, Ian
  7. Hi Michael.. What are the outlooks for the Fell and the Horwich 0-4-0ST ? Many thanks, Ian
  8. Excellent thread, learnt a lot from following it .... Not in the same class, but have added a photo of my GT3 built from mainly the same components, other then the High Level chassis .... Comments welcome...
  9. I was lucky to have had this (1367) built by my good friend, the late Roger Slade, hence the model is treasured. It has since been weathered and looks so realistic .... I just hope that the current owners of the 4mm Agenoria models, CSP models Sanspareil will eventually sort all the issues and continue to supply beautiful GWR kits - I know that is what is wanted. Roger built, 1144, 1143 , Earl of Mount Edgecumbe and the Sentinel for my collection over the years, many thanks.
  10. The finished 46208 - Princess Helena Victoria, in a very short lived livery !
  11. Hope this will be appreciated, not a Bullied but certainly the same era of memories ..... PDK Models G16
  12. Hi, Firstly thanks for all the excellent info. Would appreciate same detail of info for 34011 - Tavistock and 34019 Bideford, including dates when they started to run with cut down tenders ? Many thanks, Ian
  13. I am trying to ascertain some information regarding the loco turntables at Nine Elms , Eastleigh, and Basingstoke Sheds in the late 1950's early 1960's The following are the questions, What were the diameter (sizes) of the turntables at the 3 locations ? Who were the makers of the Turntables at the three locations ? Any unique details to the three turntables ? Track plans of the sheds ? Finally, Can good quality, accurate 4mm OO gauge turntable kits (or pre-assembled models) be obtained ? I know a lot of this information is already available, but I have read so much, I am confused ! I need a highly detailed turntable to turn these two ...... Thanks for all your help, Ian
  14. Hello, I hope this question does not appear to basic, but I would if possible like an answer ... Did the LMS/BR Princess Pacifics (46200 - 46212) carry works plates ? If 'yes', where were they positioned ? Many thanks, Ian
  15. I actually am lead to believe the positioning of the lining on the Tender is also very different ?? True or not ?
  16. This thread has been so informative, but I have a couple of questions regarding the Princess's in BR days in Maroon Livery ..... If I am correct 4 locos received the Maroon Livery, 46200, 46204, 46207, 46208 ....... Is this correct ? Two of these had BR Lining 46204 and 46208, the others two had LMS type Lining ..... Yes the question is obvious what were the differences between the two types of Lining on Loco and tender ? I would really appreciate this question being answered as I have been given conflicting information .
  17. Please, does anyone have a photo or know of a photo of this obscure BR locomotive. I am currently purchasing the Book recommended above , 'BR Departmental locos 1948-68' [ian allan] Please help, many thanks. Ian..
  18. Anyone know if it is possible to purchase the 'Extended Smoke Deflectors' that Bude and others ran with, any small manufacturer produce these in 4mm ?? Cheers Ian
  19. Hi, I realise this is a little obscure, but I am after any photos / information on the Departmental locomotive which worked at the Creosote works at West Hartlepool ? I know very little, other than I believe it's Departmental number was 52 Someone must know something, all help appreciated ... Photos of the loco would be such a bonus !l
  20. Thanks for that John, I unfortunately still prefer a kit built loco, although I fully agree the quality of RTR has improved greatly. So it will probably be a PDK or Westward kit that will eventually hopefully turn into an acceptable model of Bude ! Cheers, Ian
  21. Forester, thanks very much , all questions answered - brilliant ! I need the Town Crest and the red nameplates !! Thank you.
  22. Help, I have a question regarding 34006 Bude, I believe it ran with two different crests, eg a Cornish Crest and a 'Bude' crest ? Can anyone confirm this, and the dates/years of when it carried each crest, Also the colour of the Nameplates,Red or Black ? Thanks very much, the Devil is in the detail !
  23. Count me in for a complete kit of either (or both) a V4 or K4 .... ever hopeful !
  24. Well as I started the topic, thought I should post a photo of the finished 15100 ... Hope you like them, comments welcome
  25. I am lucky to have a 4mm 'pre-production' CSP 1367 built for me by the late Roger Slade. I will take photos and post this evening. Due to the sad passing of Roger, criticism if any should be constructive. Many thanks Roger also built the GWR saddle tanks 1143 and 1144 from his kits for me - beautiful small models. Thanks, Ian Bradford
