  1. Hi With great regret I have to say that the sale of Haymarket and 17 of the original locomotives has fallen through and the person who was going to buy it has now decided they cannot. So once again if anyone is interested in buying either the layout or any of the locomotives please send me a private message. I have gone to great deal of work testing cleaning and boxing up all the locomotives on the bases that they were being collected this weekend. All of the locomotives still for sale have had photos put on this website over the past few weeks but happy to provide more details if required. I am asking for £1,000 for the 4 fully completed baseboards, support framework all trackwork, all buildings & structures and a brand new digital controller still in its box which is about one fifth of my total expenditure to date. The whole layout comes apart as it was designed to be dismantled transported and moved for a future house move it’s fully DCC, but most of the model locomotives are DC Ready. Any interest please let me know. Regards David
  2. Hi Mike Thank you for your message but I now do have a buyer for the layout, who is an RMWeb member. I haven’t said anything up until now as I will leave to him to make any announcement's. When he is ready. It just nice to know that the layout will continue on. Regards David
  3. Hi Eric Great photos as usual. Regards David
  4. Thank you David, that’s very kind of you to say so. The ones that do not sell here will go on sale on EBay as well. Regards. David
  5. Hi So far sales of Haymarket locomotives have gone very well. I still have 5 Hornby RTR A4's for sale all come with etched plates, crews and real coal in the tender's. All have been lightly weathered.and come complete with their boxes. 60010, 60011& 60012 are all genuine limited addition Hornby Commonwealth A4's for these I am looking for £110 plus £8.95 for Royal Mail Next day delivery. And A4's 60009 & 60028 which have both been renamed and numbered I would like £99.00 plus £8.95 P/P, these also come in boxes but the loco on the box is different to the model. If anyone is interested please send me a private message, I can provide additional photos if required Regards David
  6. Hi Gently rub the area with a fibre glass pen. David
  7. Hi Sorry for the late reply I have been away for a few days. I will be advertising about 6 A4’s in the next few days on my Haymarket 64B thread in the Layout Topics section. I have already advertised 7 Hornby RTR A3’s which have all now been sold subject to final confirmation from the buyers. Regards David
  8. There are still some bargain locomotives for sale from Haymarket including Hornby A4’s. Regards David
  9. Hi Ray Thank you that’s very kind of you. The good news is I think I have a buyer for the layout who is an RMWeb member. If and when it’s all done and dusted I’m sure the person in question will make an announcement. Regards David
  10. Hi Dave Thank you. Whats on sale is just under half of the overall layouts lenght. There are 9 x 2'-0' wide baseboards, I have fully completed 4 so far, but I do have all the track plan sheets for the remaining 5 baseboards. Regards David
  11. Hi The Haymarket locomotives are selling well and it’s nice to think they will be continuing to run on some superb layouts shown on this website. I still do not have a definite buyer for the layout a few members are still considering at the moment. As I have said all along its more important for me to see the layout continue if possible. if anyone is interested please PM me and I will supply additional information about the layout and photos. Just to put it in perspective the fourteen hand build points made by the late Norman Saunders and the fourteen Colbalt Digital point motors that control them cost £1700.00 alone that’s without all the additional items, buildings and and labour. Im looking for just £1200.00 for the entire layout and everything with it, buildings, shed, and all track-work that is fully wired up. All the baseboards are independently built and wired so that layout can be easily dismantled for transportation. The only exception not included is all the rolling stock. Thats about the average cost of a fully completed kit built pacific locomotive at these days prices. Regards David
  12. Some more of Haymarket's locomotives for sale before going onto Ebay. Hornby China Made RTR A3's all loco drive , never been run on a layout just run in on a Rolling Road. All Locomotives are DC ready, weathered and all come complete with Crews, lamp, real coal in tenders etched nameplates. Each model comes with its original box in mint condition, some boxes will show an alternative model as some have been renumbered and named to suit Haymarket MPD , I am looking for £99.00 per model plus £8.95 for Next day delivery tracked postage. I any one is interested in any of these models please PM me, I am happy to supply more photos if required. Regards David
  13. First two are both Bachmann RTR Class D11/2's. Both have been weathered and both are DCC fitted with digital decoders. I do have the original decoders available if required. Both come with original boxes which are in mint condition, when I last tested them on a rolling road both worked perfectly. Since then both have been fitted with decoders and were checked a cleaned at the same time by a reputable model railway dealer, I cannot test them as I have no DCC power. I am looking for £90-00 per model plus postage costs.
  14. Hi I am not sure if I am breaking any RMWeb rules by advertising the locomotive for sale from my Haymarket layout. If I am i'm sure Andy Y will tell me and I will remove them. I thought I would see if anyone is interested in any of the models before I put them onto Ebay. I will list them over the next few days, please send me a private message if anyone would like to purchase or requires more information. Regards David
  15. Hi Manna Thank you for your kind comment. Unfortunately it will be the end of my railway modelling, I worked on Haymarket for 10 years and thoroughly enjoyed every minute, except trying to drill out those bloody locomotive lamps I won’t miss the cuts on my fingers or trying to find them on the carpet when I drop them. before I took up model railways I use to do a lot of photography photographing full size locomotives on the heritage railways and attending organised photo shoots as well. I do miss this and would like to get back into it. One of the reasons for selling Haymarket was I needed a house move to complete the layout as I only have capacity in my present home for half of it, and a house move is way off at the moment if it ever happens at all. What ever happens I will still be looking at RMWeb and following all the superb layout on there. Regards David
  16. Hi Tony Those two photos look real. Regards David
  17. Hi Tony has kindly agreed for me to tell you I am selling my layout Haymarket 64B either as an ongoing project or any individual items I have on the layout including buildings and structures plus all rolling stock. The layout is DCC based on Haymarket MPD circa 1958, most of the locomotives are RTR. All details are available on my own thread Haymarket 64B in the Layout Topics section. If anyone is interested in any items at all please message me and I will provide more details and photos. Thank you Tony. Regards David
  18. Hi I would just like to thank you all for your very kind comments. This was not an easy decision to make, it’s something I have been considering for a few months now. I have thoroughly enjoyed building up Haymarket over the past ten years and talking to all you fellow members who have always been there to help out with information and advice when I have needed it. Thank you. David
  19. Hi Due to circumstances I can no longer continue with my Haymarket Layout, So I have decided to try to sell as many items as possible. Before I start advertising on Ebay I thought I would make an announcement here on RMWeb just incase anyone would be interested in purchasing any items no matter how big or small. The layout is DCC and is broken down into three section. The Baseboards, Buildings and structures and Rolling stock. The layout was designed to consist of Nine 600mm x 1200mm baseboards, I have fully completed Four of them, the four that house most of the building structures. All four baseboards are fully wired and all trackwork has been hand built, fourteen points were hand build by the late Norman Saunders who also designed the layout using Templot, each point is fitted with a DCC Colbalt digital point motor and all has been professionally wired to a high standard. The Buildings and structures have all been scratch built using Card,Plastics and brick papers with the exception of the coaling tower which is a converted and detailed Bachmann tower and the turntable which is a detailed Peco, the main shed building is approximately 750mm x 520mm and has eight roads with an LED lighting system and inspection pits. All rolling stock approximately 40 locomotives are either Hornby or Bachmann RTR with the exception of a PDK kit built A2/1Pacific and two Backamm/G King A2/3 conversions. Most of the locomotives have their original boxes which are in mint condition, they have also been weathered and had additional detailing such as crew, real coal, etched nameplates and identity changes and as the layout is an un completed project no locomotives have ever been run on it they have only been oiled and put on a rolling road to lubricate and run in. all are in good working order and will be tested before any sales. A few of the locomotives have been fitted with Digital decoders but most are DCC ready. There are also a few additional items such as the odd carriage or wagon. It would be nice to sell the complete layout as one but I am more than happy to sell any items and I am not looking for silly prices just a fair price. If anyone is interested in any way please send me a private message and I can then give further details or photos as required. Most of the items can be seen in the pages of this thread. Sadly sometimes all good things come to an end. Regards David
