      70 years, right? I've spent the better part of the last 20 wearing the uniform, and how fortunate I am that the most risky thing I've done is going to sea.

      It came home to me with a father who escaped being a pow due to missing the boat. But later went out to Burma An uncle who fought in the jungle. We were in Thailand in June and I thought here we are moaning it's so hot as I sip a g&t with air on. Whilst dad and uncle were with full kit fighting 70 years ago
