  1. had an entertaining weekend, including being on a 150 that overshot Garth station and had to reverse a bit, passing a 97/3, a pair of DRS 37s on the network rail train, and a bizarre FGW 2 car unit half 150 and half 153. Even saw a movement on the GCG line ! and all by accident

  2. blargh, all I need to do is another spray of primer, yesterday it poured with rain, today its lovely and sunny but blowing too much to spray stuff in the back yard

  5. was going to do some modelling but seems to have accidentally spent the day learning to play an Eluveitie song on the whistle 8)

  6. is still working down the gloat box. Skytrex garratt now in black and running nicely. No idea what I am going to do with it,. Rule 1 current era railtour stock perhaps 8)

  7. has the main parts of the second attempt at a C.80 coach assembled, all plasticard so far - now can I make the battery boxes that way

  8. "The internet is very very good"

  11. has the body of the GWR C.80 cut out and assembled.

  12. 1306 partly lined, think I'll skip trying to wrap lining around the cab corner and the very tender edge though

  13. tender lining.. corners or straight bits first ?

    1. SeanNeedham

      SeanNeedham

I'd go for the straights first, just to get the levels right.

  14. has been reading about the history of S&D (The Stockton one) locomotives and found it very funny that they first painted numbers on the locos so the public could identify trains and drivers when reporting bad behaviour. Also that the main problems were drink, speeding and unauthorised passengers on locos - particularly girls!

      Sounds like Poland to me.

  15. is still working down the gloat box. Three coach roofs needing ventilators and detail bits next up, about my most hated job

  16. is at work today. I don't see the point in using a day of holiday when the shops are shut and the tv is terrible

    1. Horsetan

      Horsetan

The terrible thing is that only the radio broadcast was technically live. The TV sound was a couple of seconds behind it! It was like this mad weird echo!

    2. Sailor Charon

      Sailor Charon

Why does it need to be on BBC1 and ITV1 as well?

Mind you, it's not as if Daytime TV's that good anyway... :)

  20. Langley N2 assembled. How I love white metal kits where the inside of the body is fractionall smaller than the chassis

    1. Kelly

      Kelly

does white metal suffer 'shrinkage' like resin does then?

    2. Etched Pixels

      Etched Pixels

That depends - if you make a rubber mould from a master it shrinks a spot, if you make one from some of the other materials it grows about the same amount instead - very useful.

In this case it needed a bit of filing of the top of the motor block to fit - something that *could* have been in the instructions . grump 8)

  21. GNR day in the 'build all the old kits in the acquisitions box', today an N2 and a J52 mostly assembled, not that I actually have a chassis for either currently!

    1. Horsetan
