  1. The boss has just decreed that "It's Pinaeu time" who am I to disagree.

  2. 2 days work wiring the layout for the open day, 2 blown bridge rectifiers and at last the first loco moves under power though pointwork, controilled from the panel. 2 years 3 months since the first bit of track was laid.

  3. 5 days of chaos at Wakefield helping to put on the show now back to reality. I've got to spend a day tidying my modelling room so that I can see the desk and the floor.

  4. 62 down, 16 to go, glueing glazing into the platfrom awnings for Green Ayre.

  5. Another dilema time. Do I typeset the Wakefield Show Guide or do I start assembleing all the lovely bits of laser cut plywood I've just picked up.?

show guide - then you've got an incentive to do it AND you can come back to it and tweak it on a 2nd visit. Works for me.

  7. Can I teach Minnie the cat to be a better typist when she walks across the keyboard. Shes's managed to shut the computer down once and objected to me reading a thread and not paying her attention, or possibly getting her her tea.

Remember, you own a dog but a cat has staff!

I agree, the one I like is that a cat graciously allows you to share its house with him/her.

  9. Cats fed, Dishwasher emptied, Ironing done, wife in France, off to the club for a day of layout wiring. Sounds like a good plan to me.

All sounds good apart from one word: wiring!! Can't stand it; don't want to do it; never seem to get it right!!!

  10. Decision time, day out on the train cancelled due to weather, do i do some modelling or try and tidy the modelling room?

tidy just enough to look as though you've made an effort or to enable there to be enough room to work, then as Redgate Models says

Can you get in the modelling room?

      Yes - Do some modelling

No - Tidy just enough space to do some modelling.

  12. Decision time. Do I stay playing on the computer or do some tidying in the modelling room to try and find a workbench or floor.

Compromise by finding the bench and leaving the floor.

  14. Decision time. Fathers days duties out of the way, till the kids arrive. Do I a) spend several hours tidying my modelling room or b) cler a little space and do some modelling?

  15. Decisions, decisions, what to do thios evening. 1. Sit on the sofa nad suffer Strictly and the X factor, 2, start the 3rd book in the Steig larsson trilogy or 3, finally take the plunge and start soldering the platform awning supports into a structure.

Unfortunately as a cheapskate I can only watch the cycling but can listen to TMS. That was a good compromise.

  17. Finally found the 3 lost Controllers I need for Green Ayre after 4 months of searching. I'd left the box at church last time I put the layout up.

  23. Having spent 2 days tidying the modelling room I've found all sorts, a piece of flooring, 2 axlebox covers and several useful photos. Trouble is I've not got any modelling done.

  24. Hi, I'm the exhibitionmmanager at Wakefield and we desperately need a container crane for our new club layout which is based on Stourton container terminal. Could we buy nit please. We are happy to pay the asking price. As we don't have good internet access at the show can you get back to me on my other email address of james.guest2@ntlworld.com or phone 07855053451. Jamie

  25. I'd be glad to buy these paul, having been to LA last year and having a long term interest in things US as well as Midland. I hope that they are still available.
