birdseyecircus replied to The Nth Degree's topic in Little Loco Company
Just read the review of the class 15 in the latest Rail Express mag. Really good review and something to be proud of. My loco is superb and I look forward to the type 2 releases. Paul -
Why are there 4 threads running about the class 68? Can we merge them please? Paul

Little Loco Company - Ruston 48DS

Considering the model has been shipped out for the best part of two weeks very few have commented on it. I have yet to number mine up. The waterslide transfers are better than the proposed rub on sort in my opinion. Liking the sound though the horn noise will grow on me! Paul -

Tanks are good for this too as well as Dapol's High Bar open with a suitable tarpaulin. Paul

The beginnings of the 'Forge Arms' public house. So that's the layout under construction, a toad brake van to finish, 02 Shunter to complete and a wagon to spray. I must be mad! Paul -

A little more done to the buildings including the little office which just needs a door. The chimney was just cut from a plastic sprue off the toad brake van kit! Just needs a little cover for the top. The sprue also looked like pipework too which got me thinking. Another building is also on the drawing board for the front to disguise the exit. Paul -

Skytrex 7mm PCA V Tanks?
birdseyecircus replied to HeavyDuty's topic in Modelling Questions, Help and Tips
I emailed Dave at Skytrex about the TTA and got the following reply: ''We can't compete with Dapol & Heljan on ready to run price and quality but we have had enough enquiries to make it worthwhile running some of those models again as basic kits of parts. To that end, the HAA is now available for £25 (not on the website yet, just took some to Bristol last weekend). I've just moulded the TTA chassis which will give us the TTA, MTA & POA. The PCA is next. We've just sold the last of the PFA but I could do that again. There was also an HTA & HEA. Aside from that I'm moulding the Bogie Bolster. So basically put your requests in and watch the website.'' Sounds like some good stuff on the way. Paul -

Well a productive weekend. The foam board buildings got cladded with plasticard and painted. Still some bits to add such as gutterings. They are not fixed in position yet so I can move things around. The brick work was painted with acrylic paint which was wiped off leaving some of it in the mortar course. Still got a building to finish. Paul -

Whilst walking to work I had a vision! So i have taken off the store and the coal staithes. In their place some foamboard low relief factory backs. I will keep looking and thinking about it over the next day Paul -

I have been decorating and other jobs over the last week so not done anything. I did order however order a bogie bolster E wagon from M & M models which came today nicely packaged. It will be a few weeks before I start it and need to get some wheels for it too. It may seem a little large for Far Yard but i hope to add another board soon which should be fun. Paul -
Been to exhibitions but not with model railways. Some tools, superglue etc are a good requirement. Good luck with the show. Paul

Thanks Chris. I do enjoy the smaller layouts but the tail chasers can be fun too. Far Yard takes around 15 mins to shunt the wagons into different orders just moving one or two at a time. Not sure of were Iam going with it though as I would like to run a mainline diesel in O gauge but that means extending things somehow, hence no buildings are fixed in place in case I need to move them. Paul -
Billy, I have just typed Birkenhead Mollington st depot in Flickr. What a great set of pictures pop up. Very gritty and atmospheric. Some food for thought there. Paul

So I have taken a break from the 02 for a while and been busy knocking up a coal office from plasticard. Not too bad for first attempt in 0 gauge. Also done a bit more on my 20 ton NE toad brake. I built the body last june and took it 3 times to the caravan intending to do a bit more but never got round to it! Paul -
Hattons Model Railways of Widnes (formerly Liverpool).
birdseyecircus replied to tractor_37260's topic in Model Shop Guide
Just fired off an email to Hattons re this but having seen other retailers announcing arrival of O gauge Dapol 10ft wagons and indeed on this site being delivered, I ordered 2 different types. One has been depatched with the correct postal charge. I guess the other will follow shortly with yet another postal charge. You would think they could send an email asking if they could send them seperate. Anybody else had similar? Regards Paul
