  1. Sad but that's the price you can pay for tresspass. Funny if you change the method of transport it can change things. 'Youths mown down under motorway bridge' or '3 teens killed walking across the main runway at heathrow' Would Jeremy vine propose closing roads and airports for folk to have the place to themselves for all sorts of mischief? Paul
  2. I always find that a loco going round and round with sound is very monotonous with little in the way of change of tone. However a loco shunting with continual stopping and reving up sounds great. You tend to appreciate it a bit more on a home layout operating it yourself rather than an exhibition hall. Paul
  3. 3 or 4 locos each one must visit the shed then the fueling point. I will let you to the maths! Hours of fun! Paul
  4. I am no expert on tooling models but once you are this far down the line can you correct issues in the main tooling? Or is it start again from scratch. I guess smaller separate parts are not too much of an issue. Paul
  5. Having moved from 00 to o gauge in the last 18 months this too was my first visit. To be honest I was overwhelmed by it all. You are aware of the major players in the scale yet there is a huge number of smaller traders. As a result I spent a large amount of my time wandering around in a trance!! Paul
  6. Finally made it to Scarborough in the caravan. 1 shunter. 4 wagons (only brought 2.) Each wagon must visit the canopy for unloading. Hours of fun. As my two little helpers demonstrate! I took note of the stuff I forgot to take like paint etc so work will commence next week. And the missus didn't bat an eyelid. Phew! Paul
  7. See this Dapol thread. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/128553-Dapol-mark-1-coaches/page-2 Paul
  8. That's the one I sold on eBay. I too was a little confused as there is another version produced by slaters. Wether it's roof details or braking gear that's different I am not sure. Paul
  9. Not done much more. I hope to bring it to the caravan next week so will crack on with a bit more. Paul
  10. That's a shame David. I use to enjoy looking in the flea market when we took the caravan up to Scarborough. The shop next to the crossing at Grosmont once sold model railways but a change in ownership around 3 years ago saw it sell the unusual tourist stuff and little in the way of models. Paul
  11. Two class 73s made it to Hull on a Neville Hill - Hull test train last night. 73961 & 73965. Paul
  12. Withernsea in the east coast branch from Hull also featured a turntable. www.disused-stations.org.uk/w/withernsea/index.shtml Paul
  13. By the way Mike what's your interest? Your not going to be having a shower to it are you!! Paul
  14. It was a great series. There is masses of copyright free music out there so to trace something 20+ years old will be difficult. When I use to produce dvds the editing program had some music included in the program-which from time to time I still hear on these in store presentation type dvds. Paul
  15. Tower is showing new SR pillbox brake vans in stock. Perhaps it's these? Paul
  16. Hattons now advise between may and June now. Paul
  17. Excellent. Nice to see progress before announcing new stuff. Paul
  18. It's been a while since the last update. I have changed some of the buildings for one's from an earlier project. Which do look better. The saw tooth roof needs finishing off, which will be this week sometime. I have been concentrating on the right hand side of the layout before moving to the left board. Paul
  19. That's lovely Gerry. Lots of detail in a small space. Paul
  20. I asked them at Donny about the TTA tank wagon being released. He was redesigning part of it and seemed hopeful of a release later in the year. Paul
  21. Pete, my NCE power cab will happily run a sound fitted Heljan diesel along with a Dapol 08 which does me. I think running two or more Heljans would require a booster. Paul
  22. Memories from the Hull area in the mid 80s is a Freight from York arriving conveying VTG ferrywagons and the Polybulk bogied grain hoppers. This was often hauled by a pair of 20's though I did see a 25 on it once. There was a speedlink shed built along side the freightliner terminal. Here I have seen transfesa ferry vans and once several wagon loads of lorry chassis. Paul
  23. Hattons sent me an email around a month ago saying late feb I think. Paul
  24. The skytrex kit was available for about 10 days and is now out of stock. Paul
