Today I could show you a track scheme which was made by a friend from our german forum. It shows the stations on our modular layout for the meeting.

I usually use a track cleaner from www.schienenreiniger.de Sorry their website is only in german.
I've got the small hand cleaner, and their cleanig fluid. These stuff saved us during the Intermodellbau 2009.
I also use simple wood blocks for track cleaning, especially after painting tracks, but also between the operation.
It won't harm the rail surface and is quite effective.
Sometimes I use a track rubber.

Hello Russ,
I can't wait to see you progress on your planned layout.
Markus

Maybe you could use some strips of phosphorus bronze to made some pickups.

Why not building an G gauge indoor shuntinglayout in the place of the N gauge layout. Here you could use your build locos and stock, when the weather in the outside is horrible.
If you build the layout modular, you could, if you want take it to exhibitions. Maybe build something that did something with your wagons, e.g. a working tippler, or a working wagon turntable. with working capstans.

Hello Stephen,
the Atlas Code 55 Track is intented for the use with american rolling stock, which got RP25 wheels. I made the same mistake on my first british layout, where I wanted to use Atlas code 55 track. My entire locos stalled at the turnouts. (Dapol 14xx, GraFar 3F and 4F. The Peco and Farish Wagons run well on the Flextrack, but have some problems on the turnouts, The Dapol wagons hit the ties, when running.
When you are using british/continental rolling stock, it is better to use Peco Code 55 tracks.

Hello Richard,
thank you for your reply. Usually the layout is smaller, but for my operating session in three weeks I built up Borve. When I'm operating the layout alone, or when I havn't enough operators at the session, the Borve is dismanteld, and the the layout only gets to the module with the roadoverbridge, and after that module, would be the fiddle yard.

The missing module is now operational.
Tody I made a testrun for my next operating session from Portree to Uig.

That is very interesting.

I've got a question regarding the Palethorpes vans. Did these vans rund during the 50s and 60s and did they appear in Scotland?

I made another short movie. Now all modules are connected.

Your trials with the platforms in N looks very good.
Markus

I've tried these method too. But when you clean the track with a rubber or a wood stick or something abrasive, you will remove the conductive paint.

Your addon give The Mound more depth, it looks great.

Hello Coachmann,
I know the problem, when I import the film from my camera it runs smoothly, but for editing the movie I use another program because, there are more possibilities for editing. But there the film runs jerkilly. I have to look where the problem lies, the camera made the film with 30 fps, The program for importing the film did save the film with 30fps. The Editing software seems to run with 25fps, but when I open the film it asked me if I would like to change the settings to the settings of the film, so there it should also run with 30 fps.

I know that I have to lower the body a little bit.

Another question, is the viaduct a model of the Glenfinan Viaduct?
