  1. I dropped into Hattons this morning to have a look at the Garratt. Very impressive and nice heavy drive bodies. It was mentioned that Jan next year some will be available (no particular version mentioned) Peter
  2. David, as an ex Traralgonite, loved the scene where both locos are leaving Traralgon going up the hill after leaving Traralgon Station. Brings back good memeories Peter
  3. Mike, I got a push-pull conversion kit (LMS) from Comet, ages ago, and converted a Bachmann Suburban non-corridor but I am not happy with it and will redo it. The other is a Non-corridor Brake Third D1735 that I started, to couple with the push-pull. The roof is just sitting on as I have heaps to do before fitting it. After seeing your efforts and Coachman's, I admit to not being in the same class. Peter
  4. Mike, I really enjoyed this thread. Makes me want to go and finish my 2 Comet kits. I look forward to your next coach build Peter
  5. I am going to make a claim for most remote (temp) as I am in St Francesville, Mississippi, US of A, at the moment Y'all have a bless't day now, y'all hear Peter
  6. I wonder if Ted could get it as scrap value and use it to start the Melbourne to Tulla link? Peter
  7. Jeff, Those 3 diesels reminded me of Bob White Electrix at Norlane (they use them for generating "pure" DC for electric motor repairs and testing) All the best for the New Year and lookiing forward to the Rmwebbers get together. I will bring my G2A with sound as well Peter
  8. Jon, I am now in Timber Creek, NT so claiming the remote prize again. (Timber Creek is about halfway between Katherine, Northern Territory and Kununurra, Western Australia) Peter
  9. Hi All, Getting a good roll call. I am now enjoying a faster internet connection and a sunny 20 d in Alice Springs Peter
  10. Jon, Good one. I live in Hastings, Vic but in my caravan in Broken Hill at the moment Peter
  11. Which is why I fitted the 3v globes because I can dim them to emulate oil lamps. I bought them from here http://www.timesaverlayouts.com/leds.html but you should be able to get them in UK Peter
  12. On my originals I used the 3v 1mm diameter globes with a 1k ohm resistor fed by 12v DC and had it on for over 8 hrs with no ill effects. After talking to Richard J at DCC Concepts the next batch will have some of his LED's which will be even better Peter
  13. On my 4mm working semaphores, I had some old Ratio kits so I cut the lamps of the Ratio dolls, drilled out holes for the globe/led and glued the lamps to the dolls on my signals. Works great and is scale size as well. All I had to do then was paint them black to stop the light showing through the white plastic. Peter
