  1. "At last" the spectators said when it was confirmed FP2 was due to start only to find that half an hour before the new start time the grandstands were closed and they were all cleared out and sent home. You couldn't make this up!
  2. I always heard rumours that in the 70's half of the midlands front doors were painted harvest gold...
  3. Pretty much except I use a needle or cocktail stick to slide the transfer off the backing paper. Initially I lay it on the model next to where the transfer needs to go so when sliding it off it's more or less where it should be before adjusting. I model in N so no transfers are that large although this process works just as well on coach lining which is about a long a transfer as I'll ever use.
  4. I always lay the transfer on the model and then add a drop of cold water from a paint brush. Been doing it 20+years and never a problem.
  5. Yep, it's the screw that also holds the front pony truck in. Remove it and slide the chassis forward a touch and it will come out. The cylinder moulding will now be loose and will easily fall off and can be tricky to put back on.
  6. The last couple of laps with Alonso and Perez was exciting. Where did the Aston pace suddenly come from? Well done Lando but still the bridesmaid.
  7. I have been using Fox transfers for over 20 years and never once used warm/hot water. Regarding release times I am currently applying transfers to a loco from 2 separate but identical sheets, one purchased a couple of weeks ago and one possibly 3-4 years old. The new one is taking approx 30-35 seconds to release and the older one 10-15 so read into that what you will.
  8. I understand the stewards have decided that it is safer for drivers to sit in the pit lane to get space rather than cars travelling at vastly different speeds on track but have acknowledged the rules need looking at. They then dish out a completely pointless 10 place grid penalty to Sargent who was starting last anyway.
  9. I see the might of Steven Gerrard and Jordan Henderson's Al-Ettifaq and all their millions attracted a crowd of 696 for their last match. I assume they didn't go there for the atmosphere ......
  10. It seems Hamilton and Leclerc were unlucky as the stewards only checked their boards along with Max and Lando's. If they'd checked them all Piastri and Ocon could have ended up in the points!
  11. Let's add an additional 19 racing laps to the weekend then penalise you for your wooden plank being to worn which we won't let you check between races. Another win for FIA officialdom.
  12. It's great to see the gap between Max and the rest closing but it's only because the rest are still bringing upgrades whilst RB can forget about this season and concentrate on next year's car so they'll kick off with a massive headstart in a car already the best. That said good to see Lewis back and Lando getting another podium. George really does seem to be tailing off as the season progresses.
  13. Well that sprint race really livened things up for the fans said no one. They really are a waste of time and Max being 9 seconds ahead in just 19 laps doesn't bode well for the GP although it may take him a couple of laps to get into the lead.
  14. England looking comfortable. Now where's the self destruct button? Found it!
  15. I still don't like sprint races. The multiple safety cars were all that livened it up. Without them the soft runners would have overtaken the mediums in the first couple of laps then swapped back as the softs wore out. The safety cars just slowed the process down which made it 'exciting' towards the end but all the overtakes were of sitting ducks coupled to a too powerful DRS zone as mentioned on commentary. All the sprint race did was push more teams towards the cost cap with crash damage, forcing a number of teams to work into the night to repair them for todays race. Sargeant's crew must have everything crossed that he gets the boot before next season. Well done to Oscar and McLaren.
  16. Although based in the UK and, I think, with chassis from Italy aren't Haas a US team, owned by an American already well known for racing. If that is Andretti's sales pitch that ship may have already sailed.
  17. Because to avoid selling fees sellers would have a buy it now price of a £1 despite the item being worth more with a £30 postage fee. Another loophole eBay closed.
  18. I asked Fox to produce some in 'N' to go with their number sheets and they duly obliged but have never listed them so they have the artwork so drop them a line.
  19. Normal service has been resumed. I fear last week's race was a welcome one off. Great to see the McLaren's back at the top of division 2 though.
  20. When a postie I had a Wayne Carr on my delivery route. What were his parents thinking!
  21. At last an exciting race and not a RB to be seen. Disaster for George but well done Carlos and Lando.
  22. Evidently Max didn't get a grid penalty for impeding Yuki as the victim also has to go to the stewards and the RB junior team decided not to send him so just a reprimand not a penalty. What a load of tosh. It amazes me just how often RB manage to make you hate them even more. Edit - missed yesterdays post along the same lines
  23. Please can we play Man Utd every week 😉
