  1. Thank you Phil, I'm wondering if I have a excuse for one on the Western Region in the 1970's or early 1980's ?
  2. Could anyone tell me which Class 25/1 & 25/2 were air braked please? I have asked a few people & looked through the Derby Sulzers site, but I'm still no wiser ... so your help would be greatly appreciated Cheers Phill
  3. Thanks Andrew, I have replied to your PM. I have Richards Traction article too, but I don't think mine will be up to that standard ......but I will do my best The LLC 22 is tempting, I did inquire on their FB page for under Valance info, but no reply yet I'm also tempted by the Heljan Hoover though now that LLC have gone back on the Crowdfunded 50 offer (I was a crowdfunder)
  4. I saw Project 22 at the GWR Diesel Gala & I am now the proud owner of both books & have my membership form too
  5. Andrew, I notice you have scratch built your valances, I used the brass ones but they have proved to be a real pain to fill, but I'm nearly there with them now Are you modelling any missing panels? & have you decided on the identity/livery yet?
  6. Very promising build Andrew, would be a great shame not finish it I have re-sited the grills as you have & intend to add hinges etc as you also have Those brass headcode panels look the business too! do you have any spares to sell ?........the castings in that area are cr@p on mine & it would be a good solution
  7. Thanks Dave, I remember that one, but not sure how often he visits WT? ........I will give it a go though
  8. Thanks Andrew, I noticed the box shape appears to be more rectangular than square on my side? ..........could you PM me Steve's contact details?
  9. Yes I have now got both Project 22 books , but I think she did run for a while with just the one panel missing Yes most helpful Dave & thank you
  10. I have now picked a loco, & I am seeking any pics of the water tank area, particularly what is visible when the valance is missing? The loco I have chosen is D6343 in BFYE livery with the above panel missing.
  11. £700 for a D600 kit?...i think I'll pass on that!
  12. Thanks Craig & David I have joined the Flicker group & I will study some of those excellent pics before settling on a particular member of the class
  13. The problem with missing vallances would be finding clear enough pics or diagrams of what is vissible when they are missing ?
  14. I have managed to form the valances by hand folding them in a vice & I think they look OK?
  15. You made a great job of yours Jordan .......could I ask how you went about doing the body underskirts/ access flaps or whatever they were called? Bit more soldering & filling on the Class 22 today mainly around the cab step area. I have also trial fitted the bogies & fuel tanks. I have also done a bit of research on this class & i am deciding which member of the class this loco will become. I had already decided it will be finished in BR Blue with full yellow ends & I want one of the last few members of the class based at Laira or Bristol Bath Road.
  16. I am also messing about with this old Class 25 /2 kit although I am less convinced I'm winning with this one? The body will not get anymore modifications now as I have spent enough time on it , but I will do a bit more work on the chassis.
  17. Now has cab roofs after lots of filing & sanding, I have also fitted the nose ends. I was contemplating gluing these parts on but in the end I bit the bullet & soldered these white metal parts on & I have to say I was quite pleased with the results...
