H i, I am a newbie to the world of DCC & N gauge too. I have purchased a Digicentral DR5000 after seeing this unit at Warley. I now need decoders for my fleet of 6 diesel loco's which are a mix of Farish & Dapol DCC Ready loco's. Having trawled the internet, it seems that soundchips are around the £100 mark? which is too expensive for me, so I have turned my attention to stay alive 6 pin decoders now. I am wondering if 2 function chips will be fine for lights & movement? Could I suggest that multiple orders of specific diagrams of these coaches be available at the same rate as the multi packs? ........I'm sure many will not require 2 brakes in a pack or catering vehicles

The ex Lima passenger Mk1's now have their water pipes & grab handles on their ends, these were scratchbuilt from stainless wire & Handrail nobs. The coaches are running on a mix of ex Triang B4 & Easybuild Commonwealth bogies , so only the trussing & battery boxes left from the original Lima coaches now more or less.....

Over the last few weeks I have been improving Withercombe' s fleet of BR Mk1 coaches . I have been concentrating on the 14 modified Lima MK1's. All 14 have had their roofs replaced & detailed, this is a on going project, but here are a few pics of the progress so far.... I have also decided to populate the coaches & so I have painted my first 50 passengers......

This is Railmatch's BR Blue/Grey coach roof colour, any thoughts or opinions please ? Dunno if it shows in the pics but it's a very dark grey with a sort of blue'ish tint ? :/
