  1. Too late the oxey-acetylene torch is out!! Not to mention my bigests of my BIG HAMMERS !!!
  2. After lingering in the workshop for quite a few years work has restarted on my Steve Beattie Class 22....
  3. Good luck with the Class 22 then, way out of my price range I'm afraid
  4. Will they be stocked by Hattons & other retailers at a more realistic price I wonder?
  5. I found the SVR Gala was extremely well run & had NO lengthy waits at ANY passing points on any of the three days, but as the gala is full of visiting loco's & a large & well maintained fleet of home fleet loco's it makes the SVR Gala the premier diesel gala in the UK & probably the best attended too & the WSR will have to work hard to re-join the list of premier diesel galas ...I do hope it gets there but with this year with D1010 failure again & the non running D7018 it did not work out too well this year.
  6. Yes I will visit both this year too.
  7. So your saying the WSR Gala had more train movements than the SVR Gala? I was at the SVR GALA all three days & spent all my time travelling not waiting? Having been to both Galas on many occasions & I have a good idea which railway is getting it right.
  8. After being a regular WSR gala goer for years, I switched to the SVR gala in 2016 & I haven't seen anything form the WSR since the 2016 event to change my mind
  9. Did D1010 live up to it's unofficial name Western Camfailure ?
  10. Any date for the LLC release please? ......I have ordered one
  11. Yes it's the new PCB which is great too! The chassis 1/8 plate alluminiumn & I would expect between 3 & 7 hours running time (similar to my Micromotive RC loco's)
  12. Shame D7018 didn't make its promised debut .
  13. These are the chips I'm using (no connection) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bluetooth-Train-Control-Decoder-Module-1-1A-2-Function-Use-phone-to-run-trains/112959595989?hash=item1a4ceaa5d5:g:wb4AAOSwObhaZ84K
  14. The next loco for the fleet will be my Bluetooth powered Peak which will use the same Moncacy Bluetooth chip as my 121 DMU....
  15. D1058 Western Nobleman arrives at Withercombe with a short ballast working ready for the weekends Permanent Way work . The loco has just been finished off this week as have the Catfish & Dogfish ballast wagons. The loco is scratchbuilt using a modified pre production Heljan bodyshell & the wagons are weathered out of the box Heljan's .
  16. Got some ballast hoppers at those prices....would be rude not to
  17. Weller or Antex for me personally, a small & large conventional irons are versatile enough & won't cost the earth & you will be able to get replacement parts anywhere
