Photo's Of East Yorkshire Railways

Russ, originals Double Line, singled I think, c1970. -
A few pictures of one of my 4mm scale signalboxes, this is a close copy of Springbank West No2 Hull & Barnsley Rly 1907 to 1944. Though demolished in 1965 as late as c2001 I was able to measure the surviving foundations and construct a working drawing. Plastic through out, apart from the handrails which are soldered brass wire.

Where was the last steam hauled freight on BR?
micknich2003 replied to montyburns56's topic in UK Prototype Questions
There was at least one steam hauled Ballast Train out the night steam finished, engine back on shed sometime Sunday, somewhere I have more details. -
A couple of quick "Grab Shots" of work so far, this elevation is no complete but needs some work on the colouring, for example the green needs to be let down, too bright and pristine. Gravytrain, you will notice I have gone up market, and I now use a can of "Posh Beer" as a model stand, previously it was "Stone's Bitter" or a bean can.

Balne Moor H&BRly, 1885 to 1959. Attached diagram shows the layout as installed and is from the c1904 Diagram Book. A few years later, a siding was added and a new locking frame installed. To accommodate this, the operating floor was extended, see photo', -

A c1957 derailment at Hull Beverley Road. As was the practice then, the remains of the damaged wagons have been pushed to one side, "We have trains to run, we can do the paperwork another day". -
If you wish to scratch build drawings were in a late '60's Model Railway Constructor.

Do you have a copy of North Eastern Rly Signals published by the NERly Assoc? A very worthwhile publication, full details on their website, you don't need to be a member to buy. -
