  1. Rob, I was looking for a similar view and from the same angle. Attached best I can find, Sunday relaying October 1983, and taken from Cherry Tree signalbox.
  2. Not so, the Yanks still spell and speak the English they took with them 400 years ago. They are slowly "Catching On", and they now spell "Gauge" with a "U" the same has us.
  3. Walton Street looking west and towards the City centre, May 1936.
  4. Following the recent discussion on K Crossings the attached may be of interest. Thanks to Michael Raising.
  5. Walton Street Crossing, 1934 looking west towards Willerby. In the past eighty years or so, things have changed a little, but "The George" my one time favourite "Watering Hole" still stands.
  6. Walton Street, Sunday 22 March 1987, craning in the Portakabin tempoary gate box.
  7. You are not the first to say that or similar. You have seen her before, sitting on the block shelf at Cherry Tree.
  8. The demolition of Walton Street signalbox, Sunday 19 April 1987.The replacement "Portacabin" is seen in the background..
  9. The NERly and the LNER called them "K Crossings", and so did the railwaymen I worked with, see attached NERly drawing of 1912.
  10. Attached signalling diagram of Driffield Wansford. Yes, The Old Gentleman is correct, there were once "Gate Boards" at Staddlethorpe Junctoin.
  11. Gateboard at Wansford, Driffield, worked from the signalbox, lever No41, there was also an identical set up at Beverley. Photographer unknown.
  12. Two 1934 pictures from Walton Street, the Gate Controller remained in in use until December 1963 when the "Boom Gates" were installed. The original traffic lights survived until late summer 1980 when "Modern" versions were installed, these in turn were replached by Flashing lights when the present barriers and alterations were carried out.
  13. Signalling diagram for Walton Street, and now the property of James Syoles. Some relocking took place in 1934 when the gates were converted to power working, though the Gate Wheel was retained for emergency use, the wickets continued to be worked by a wheel. At the same time, Road Traffic lights were provided, the first UK application at a level crossing. Some further relocking took place c1957, but this, the original diagram of June 1924, though now amended, remained in use until December 1963 when "Boom Gates" were installed. I have practically every signalling diagram from Hull Paragon to Bridlington Quay, 1875 onwards, and if requested I will willingly put them on here. Though I guarantee, and Sod's Law, I will have every one but the one asked for.
  14. Here is Royal Oak South. I may have Fley Camp, but if so, it's not scanned.
  15. I have very little on Filey, but here is something a little different, the Signalling Plan/Locking Chart/Locking Table for Royal Oak North.
  16. I have checked my notes, I have nither the opening date, or the year the first locking frame was installed, almost certainly the 'box would be opened c1875, and with the introduction of Block Working. During it's life Carnaby had three different locking frames.
  17. Carnaby signalbox c1981. I probably have an interior view, but it will need to be scanned.
  18. Mallard, passing Walton Street about 1988, again, and somewhere, I have the exact details.
  19. Rob, I have literally hundreds of Hull pictures. For starters Walton Street mid '80's, I will have somewhere, the full details.
  20. Rob, what's your opinion on me posting this one, Springbank North, Hull. August 1965? It's obviously in the East Riding, but possibly off "Your Beaten Track".
