New addition to the fleet this week. A Bachmann 101. A change of headcode and renumbered to a Chester based unit. Plus adding the detail kit Speedo cables and drivers, finished off with a bit of weathering.

Almost ready for some paint.

I think the model looks pretty good I just hope the bodyside steps are plated over on the later locos that had that mod. Cheers Peter.

It's been a while since I caught up on this thread. Talk of ploughs a few pages back was interesting. I would appear the Western where happy to use the class 33s on all sorts of turns and not just the ones they where diagrammed then complain about the centre ploughs. When I worked as a shunter at EH Depot we did a turn in the ground frame. One night shift I had set the road for a light engine when the sky lit up. It was a plough fitted class 37 and one of the ploughs had hit the juice rail. I reported this to the Foreman as was the instruction. The fitters would either remove raise them remember of course if they had been on a loco for some time this might be hard to do. Cheers Peter.

I have never had a lot of luck with waterslide transfers if I am honest. I used Presfix transfers on my Lima GUVs. The lima model comes up well I think. Cheers Peter.

Hi Richie, Welcome to rmweb. I think the High Level kit is pretty good the etch folded up well and the instructions are very clear. the Kadee's on the 142 are number 5s I just cut a hold to suit and set them at the right hight. The 150 has I think number 18s which just plug into the NEM pocket. Thanks, the layout has taken an age to get this far but I am still enjoying the build. Still plenty to do. Cheers Peter.

Funny you mention that. I had cut between the rails, but the sort which is now fixed was because I hadn't cut between the screws and the rail. I hadn't thought the screws going through the bottom of the PCB would be a problem. Anyway all sorted now Also had a chance to take the body off the class 25. Seems it was a loose wire going into the speaker. It's working now but I might have to replace the speaker if it does it again. Cheers Peter.

I set the layout up outside today and was hoping to run a few trains to test things out. I wired up the traverser last week, and after powering up the layout it seemed this their was a problem. Sorts even when I removed half the wiring. then I broke the baseboard legs trying to take it down to sort the wiring. I was being a bit rough with it as I had spent half an hour trying to work out the problem. Next problem was my class 25 which did work with sound now works but no sound. Needless to say it's now all packed away. Back to working on my oo gauge.

Hi Paul, I think we all have a kit stash, the flask kit was in the draw for a good few years. their are still a few left in mine part finished. I spent plenty of time at Salisbury back in the day. I remember seeing the snowPlough at the london end of the station back in the day.

Thanks Paul, Totally agree re Colour. I think we all see it differently. The kit wasn't an easy build but worth while, as you say makes a change from the Bachmann model. I saw a picture of one in a Modelrail mag a few years back and decided I had to do one. Cheers Peter.

I have finally finished the FNA flask. I am not 100% happy with the colour but it will do. The colour does vary from wagon to wagon from the pics I found.

Thanks Cav, I remember Outon Road great layout. My two previous barriers were based on the Hornby chassis like yours but both had warped though one isn't too bad and might still get some use. Cheers Peter.
