  7. Fantastic sightings folks - it all gladdens the heart On the red admiral front I did see one on the wing on a ridiculously warm January day in Gloucester a few years ago Phil
  8. Funnily enough had just used those two shots to model a couple in blue for a friend Left the gutters on though Phil
  9. Nope - but will be doing this - picked mine up from CMC at Leamington & Warwick show today http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=d200+heaton+Mersey Work required: 1. Out with the model strip - off with the numbers, names and OHLE flashes 2. Remove small hand rails on top of nose and moulded lamp irons on outer nose ends - D200 has neither of these 3. Mask off and spray on small yellow panel 4. Fit new lamp irons in unique D200 position either side of nose doors - have some correct ones removed from recent WR Class 37 projects 5. Fit new handrails on outer nose ends and blank off coupling pockets 6. Renumber and reapply OHLE flashes and D200 numbers (Fox transfers) and TOPs data panels and blue star coupling codes (Traintech) 7. Touch up green around handrails and new lamp irons 8. Add buffer beam super detailing and frost grilles 9.Weather D1067, 6601/786/885/992, 1662/9 5901 all in final stages of reassembly following similar treatment - better finish them first! Phil
  10. Hmm - think I'll leave it to you to determine the appropriateness of the current temperature for immersion!!!!! Hee hee http://www.sandfordparkslido.org.uk/emailgroup.html Phil
  11. Absolutely - that's a no heat loco!!! And a single type 2 on a class 1 working was not common, But the passengers on this train were probably not the only ones to suffer - according to the Sulzer type 2 site there was a maintenance staff dispute at this time and all sorts of loco workings were disjointed. Phil
  12. Excellent stuff Jeff Never seen as many pictures of Big Eds in the same place at same time Phil
  13. Class 81, 81001 ambles through Watford Junction with a mixed freight of short wheelbase wagons. 21/6/74 Hi Jeff Headcode says 1A89 - suspect that's not right as rigid but long wheelbase vans in train - looks like a parcels working to me - PMV & SPVs - 4A89 might be more appropriate More cracking photos, thanks for sharing Cheers Phil
  14. The spring is sprung in Cheltenham First butterflies of the year in Sandford Park - Tortoiseshell and male Brimstone - in Sandford Park today Locally there is a recognition that you cant say winter is passed until Race Week is over - and that's next week - but the weather pattern does look established for a while. Might even get some decent trout fishing this year if we have a decent spring.... Phil
  15. Wizzos also had a booked turn north of Bristol in to BNS in the late 60s/early 70s on 1M22 Plymouth - Manchester Cheers Phil
  16. Ah yes - we have a similar group of spuggies living in the hedge across the road. Great little characters Thought it was them silhouetted against the sky in the bare trees this evening - except that they were goldfinches, a dozen or so of them. Charming! Phil
  17. Cracking photos Jeff - particularly Worcester As for that class 21 at Barry - 6121 or 6122? Much debate! See http://www.rcts.org.uk/features/diesels/loco.htm?id=diesels/D6121 Kind regards Phil
  18. In fact it looks like 24s attract SPVs in the Stoke division http://www.flickr.com/photos/68861278@N03/8300018907/in/photostream/ And the rest of the train looks like a Hornby advert.... Phil

  22. Well - there's a high degree of probability that it was a period of time somewhere between 3hrs 40 and 3 hrs 50 minutes long....!!! Havent calibrated my watch recently however so that statement may not stand scrutiny. Phil
