  1. Well, these appear to be hitting the shops. From the photos on the Rails website it would appear that most of the previously identified errors have not been fixed on the even planked version, and from what i can see the uneven planked version carried these over ... another missed opportunity, and i think some needs to explain to Dapol what the word “accurate” actually means
  2. I’d like to add my waistline to the list of failed preservation projects ...
  3. I think Kent is pretty much devoid of freight rail traffic these days isn’t?
  4. Good solution, thanks ... but hardly “NEM” if we’re left doing this ...
  5. Took our lad for a walk past Hoo Junction yesterday. Fab day out and perfect weather for it. The footpaths which go half way round the junction are beautifully clear, giving some nice views of the yard. And if you were the driver of the pair of 66s who gave my son a big wave and toot then thank you, he really appreciated that!
  6. Nope, just carefully bent them with a fine pair of tweezers from underneath.
  7. As a fellow Kadee user, what did you do to fix this? I changed the couplings on mine today and found the same problem.
  8. Had chance to try and unpack and play with 2 out of my 3 today. The Southern green one ran fine after I had tweaked the front and centre pickups so they made contact with the wheels. Very nice once it was adjusted. The BR black one arrived with one of the wheels twisted properly out of quarter. No chance of that running. Phoned Hattons and they immediately arranged a return ... can't fault the service so far. I'll have to await my birthday to find out what Pioneer II is like.
  9. So, yours took the same time to get to Oz that mine took to get to Kent ... as you say, well worth it though! There is a pic in one of the Bowaters albums of Pioneer II parked next to one of the Bagnells at Ridham ... they're about the same size!! The P really is quite small.
  10. Yeah, there used to be 3 ... and one of the highest cncertrations of pubs in the country ... even in the 90s a pub crawl would end in tears before they’d all been bagged. Love the progress, Wadley’s is looking superb.
  11. Wow, only just found this thread ... love the goods shed interior! As a point of reference, your pictures of the old brewery in Faversham arn’t from Shepherd Neame’s, they are on the opposite side of Court Street. The photos you have are of the old Rigden’s brewery (later Whitbread’s). Like what you’ve done with the model.

    Ramsbury Dyke

Thanks Sam, the main layout will sit on two 44” x 8.5” boards, there is also a 12” x 8.5” end board. It is designed to sit in some plastic boxes i brought ... sadly my layouts have to go through bouts of storage, and these boxes seem to be a good solution. The end board is designed so it can be replaced by an extension at some point.
  13. Thanks for the update Dave. On the downside, we have to wait an extra week or so ... ... on the upside, if the ship has to leave Felistowe and go via Rotterdam we really can say they are taking the P ... bad puns aside, I'm sure it will be worth the wait!
  14. This new announcement ... its a GWR snow plough right???

    Ramsbury Dyke

    Thanks Mike, plans duely amended.
  16. So, despite having a cronic lack of time at the moment I have decided to plan a new layout. This is mainly driven by my own Father Dougal, who having turned 6, has decided he thinks we should build an exhibition layout together. Attached is our plan for "Ramsbury Dyke", a small truncated branch station set in the southern region of BR in the 1970s. Having filled OO and O gauge micro layouts with track we wanted something where we could experiement a little bit more with scenry, and have thus kept it simple. The blue track will be electrified, and the red unelectrified. The yellow tracks will be modelled in a disused state. This includes the old branch continuing to the right and the remains of the goods yard at the bottom. The exit to the fiddle yard is on the left, below the church. Could I ask for advice on the signalling please? The pink dots are starter signals. The blue dots are the ground signals. Are they in the right place? The two starters on the right hand side will be modelled in a disused state. The track is going to be N-Fine (code 40) using B6 turnouts, one of which will be used to create the catch point. Thanks Father Jack
  17. A blond, a brunette and a red head ... question is, which order
  18. Thoroughly enjoyed myself yesterday, even if i did end up like a drowned rat in the car park.
  19. The set up went well tonight ... very impressed with the layouts so far ... but i’ve pulled first stint on the car park tomrrow and its supposed to be wwweeeeeetttttt
  20. The tender top on these is a push fit ... but it can be quite snug. The wire between the loco and the tender is not part of the original build. I fitted a wire to mine as the tender connection was never great at passing current. As I recall this loco picks up from one side of the tender, and the other side of the loco.
  21. David, Yes they are attending, sorry they got missed off the list.
  22. Yeah, but no, but yeah, but no ... ... just found a picture in one of my books of a LSWR Iron Mink which was part of a batch built by a contractor to a GWR diagram. They later passed into SR hands. Would there be enough demand for a run though?
