  1. Weird day today. Turned up for work 0600 to find out I actually had got the day off I applied for, returned home to discover someone had nicked my house name plate. Either tatters or someone thought it actually was a real totem. Been struggling with a difficult model all day and now my stepdaughter and her mother have just had a pointless row over the usual nothing so everyones in a bit of a grump. Telford had better be good tomorrow....

  5. Well, almost time to go home from the PSB. Luckily, I'm off work until 3rd of Jan but due to a BT cable fault I'll have no phone and no internet over the xmas/new year period, the tell's not looking too good so...time to get stuck into the food/booze/round tuit box of kits etc. Have a Merry Humbug and I'll be back in 2013.

  6. Well, just sent off for my PCV license forms. Got to give it a go!

Thought you only needed that for carrying fare paying passengers. Has it changed?

    2. Jon Fitness

      Jon Fitness

As far as I understand it, I can carry up to 8 passengers as long as it's not for hire or reward and the vehicle can be a maximum 7.5 tons. I think 122 is somewhat more than 8 tons and has 74 seats. The museums I am involved with organise vintage running days where they give free rides on the old buses but they insist all drivers be PCV qualified even if they don't need to be. It's probably for the best just in case of any incidents. I don't think any driver CPCs are required...

  7. Well, that's a start made on clearing out the old Beano annual collection. Ebay beckons. There's a 1948 one in there somewhere....

It really hurts me to throw any book away. That's why I've got over 40 years worth. But needs must as they say.

  8. Well. I'm at work at Chester PSB, Hooton SB has already closed and the new panel is now undergoing final testing. End of an era, no more modelling at Chester PSB....probably.

  15. will be scrubbing up the resin bits on a JLTRT class 24 tonight.

  16. Will later today (after a 12 hour shift) be attempting to remove a 3ft diameter loft header tank through an 18 inch wide loft inspection hatch. Now where's my saw?

    1. davefrk

      davefrk

We left our tank in as we are at the end of the pipeline from Glasgow and now and again someone cuts through the water main somewhere in Glasgow and we're without mains water for a day or two so it's good to have a reserve.

    2. Jon Fitness

      Jon Fitness

Ah, good thinking but mine has been isolated for 18 months and is empty and dry. It's also in the way if I need to change the smaller header for my soon installed replacement solid fuel boiler.
