thinks that people who "tag" trains ought to be re-sprayed with their own paint and left to dry somewhere hot..
-
thinks this will be the final year of building customers signals....at least until I retire from my fulltime employment...too much to do, too little time.

Is (rather strangely) wishing MOK would produce 7mm scale signal kits to match their locos..

is planning to go for a trundle along the Middlewich branch next week. Crewe-Chester blocked all week for engineering work and Virgin trains diverted along there..

Looks like my Canon D300 is going to be laid to rest..it's got damp or something nasty growing on the sensor. Too risky to clean without scratching the sensor and probably not worth the expense of having it done professionally. I've only taken 5000 pics with it too!

Quick update rgarding 56113 and it's train, 6M54 yesterday. Declared failed at Gresford 2319, assisted clear of the single line 0635 the following morning. Can't understand it, surely there must have been a spare pannier tank or something on shed at Croes Newydd.....

56113 failed on Gresford Bank on 6M54. Poor driver has to tie it down, get a taxi from Gresford to Crewe, get a spare loco, drive it to Wrexham via Salop and go and rescue his own train. Not what you come to work for really! At least he knows where his detonator protection is.....

Chester PSB now has a re-laid junction at Saltney including an extra set of points we didn't have before. Be another year before we can use the new ones though!

Will later today (after a 12 hour shift) be attempting to remove a 3ft diameter loft header tank through an 18 inch wide loft inspection hatch. Now where's my saw?

Used to think I was well paid as a grade 7 signalman until I saw the quote for having my solid fuel boiler and a couple of Rads changed..#welloverthetopprices...
