  1. My first thought was "Feed Me!" which is close enough... "We're gonna need a bigger layout..." Luke
  2. Yes. Sorry I left that out (I'd found that out on Monday). Indeed I suspect that this might be the Hornby tracks most useful feature! Of course they re not available yet... https://uk.Hornby.com/products/fishplate-pack-tt8036 Luke
  3. Following on from the track conversation )1 Peco to Hornby Fine as long as the Peco plastic web is cut back. Using Hornby rail joiner. 2) Peco to Tillig. No way! Tillig joiner connects wrongly. 3) Hornby and Tillig have a much wider rail foot and will not fit the Peco rail joiners. 4) Tillig to Hornby / Hornby to Tillig is fine! 5) L to R: Peco point, Peco Track, Hornby Track, Tillig Track. The dimensions of the Hornby and Tillig track is near identical, but I think the Tillig looks better. The sleeper & sleeper spacing on the Peco plain track is different from Hornby / Tillig but that doesn't mean it is wrong. Different bit of UK track has different spacing depending on things like maximum axle load and expected density of traffic.
  4. I think Hornby's dates have been up-dated wrongly. I would guess that "Winter 24-25" is meant to be "Winter 23-24". I've looked but I can't find anything between "Summer 23" and "Winter 24-25". Luke
  5. Era 6 is technically end of steam but BR blue with the pre-TOPS numbers. I can take the blue 08 (era 7) and renumber from 08XXX to 3XXX. I can also use Diesel Hydraulics, when some one makes one. For me TT120 is also an extra to my normal modelling, but it may grow depending! Luke
  6. I'd rather do mine with the black line rather than without! (pics linked and from Kent Rail)
  7. Wow! i hadn't noticed. When I spoke with Simon a Kings Cross the way he explained is is that each phase was roughly 6 months. Phase 1: Oct 22- Mar 23, Phase 2: April 23-Sept 23, Phase 3: Oct 23-Mar 24, Phase 4: April 24-Oct 24. Looks like things might already have slipped a bit :( I'm working on Era 6 so you're lucky!!! Luke
  8. Noting will happen until I get the etches and see what there is/ isn't. My concern is getting the roof profile correct, but I realised this morning (after your e-mail) that perhaps could use the ends as a template for the roof profile? And the diesel chassis would give me power trucks for 2 models if I wanted. In terms of headcoads I've been in touch with Lousie at Modern transport Graphics (model.graphics@btinternet.com) who do SR late headcodes for 73's/33's. They are the most accurate I've found so far (and their are some dire ones out there!)' Louise has scaled them down for me so that they fit my Lincoln Loco 33 body (unfinished until I can get the chassis working as I want) and I'm intending to use them on the MLV as an when it is ready... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154862609150?hash=item240e87e2fe:g:uMkAAOSwoTJenDAH What livery are you planning for your MLV? I'm going for Jaffa! Luke
  9. I contacted Simon directly when my brothers' A1 2550 (Blink Bonny) arrived with 4472's (Flying Scotsman) tender top. He's organising a replacement. We shouldn't have to go via Simon but I'm v.pleased it has worked for you too. now if they would just do something specific for the French TT market ... Est 231D anyone? Luke
  10. Initially I was going to use a Rue d'Étropal resin Tyneside Motor Luggage Van but with the sides and ends from Allen as metal always looks finer than resin. http://www.rue-d-etropal.com/3D-printing/passenger-stock-br/3d_printed_sg-br-epb-emu.htm Now I would expect to take a Hornby Mk1 and butchering it to fit. The trailing bogie (8'6") will be the standard BR bogie, the power bogie would probably be a Tillig / Roco DR Br 202 diesel which has a prototype bogie wheelbase of 2300mm as opposed the the MLV 2337mm. I might not change the side frames as it is more important that it works than it looks right (and the practicality of scratch building a correct bogie frame without it looking like a pigs ear is unlikely!) https://www.modellbahnshop-lippe.com/Diesel+Locomotive/Diesel+Locomotive/Roco-36336/gb/modell_379476.html https://www.modellbahnshop-lippe.com/Diesel+Locomotive/Diesel+Locomotive/Tillig-04599/gb/modell_313396.html Luke
  11. Well my last communication with him was 30th July so it shouldn't be long now! I'm just a little surprised I haven't heard anything from him since July. I half expected a "I've had quite a bit of TT120 requests, so whilst I'm at it is there anything else beyond the MLV you'd be interested in?". I know there is at least on other person here on RMweb who has asked about TT120 and seemed to get a bit of a brush off... I'm sure extra sides form Mk1's that could use the Hornby Mk1's would go down well... Luke
  12. For all intents and purposes Oxford and Hornby are the "same" thing, at least for the moment. Whether that will change when Lyndon Davies stops being Hornby CEO is a good question! Luke
  13. They could announce "Seaborne Freight" which would be really easy as they never had any ships so Hornby wouldn't need to actually produce anything :) ! Luke
  14. Back in July I asked them about reducing down their BR MLV from 3mm to TT120. They said that they could do it but couldn't give a date. I offered an up-front payment though that wasn't requested. I'm still waiting :) Worsley Works - "I can do it for you buet cannot give a date as I will need to fill a new 18" x 12" sheet" The Hornby Mk1's will make things easier as it give me a roof and general structure. Luke
  15. Yes! It seems to be a bit of a surprise to all, including Hornby! Luke
  16. What do you think of the buildings? Luke
  17. Tried out my brother set this morning (his present to himself) and all seemed fine. Ran smoothly, was quiet at the start and got quieter. The controller is a little fast with the A1 and 3rd radius curves. Track is a bit of a struggle to put together. I was fine but my brother isn't a modeller and struggled. Our only puzzlement is that whist the loco is 2550, the tender is definitely 4472! I haven't seen this anywhere else on the web so might just be us, but I suspect there may be a few like this! I took several photos and the tender is the same both sides... Luke
  18. Thank you :) I'm waiting for my Easterner set... With a bit of weathering it should look rather good! Luke
  19. I would think this is a temporary "sorting things out" issue. Once TT120 is up and running I'd expect it to be distributed from inside the EU to EU consumers. Hopefully Michanglais's set gets sorted out and is just single charged. Luke
  20. I would think that all the A2/A3/A4 were all made at the same time. Then they will have the capacity to move onto the Duchess/ City/ Princess's. Luke
  21. Have chatted with my brother and he like the fact that "his" set is special 👌 ! Luke
  22. No! It's the one my brother and I unpacked this morning! No photoshop and no preproduction items! Here are some of the other photos I took on my TT120 diorama. 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6(
  23. Um... Anyone notice the now obvious mistake? 2550 with 4472's tender?!?!? 🙄 Luke
  24. The further away from the UK you like, the easier it seems to be... Luke
  25. We were only talking about the chassis. The rest is an approximation of a 10XX. Luke
