Could you ask IT to add a "Words fail me" button? -
You will need to declare the loco as "returned goods for warranty repair' and check the "returned goods" box in the customs declaration. Similarly when it's returned to you the store needs to declare it as "returned goods after warranty repair" and check the "returned goods" box on the customs declaration. I would keep copies of your emails to the store about the repair and the original declaration when you bought the loco - just in case.

They were originally built as saddle tanks for work in Baltimore docks, two were converted to tender locos for higher coal and water capacity but I think they still worked around the docks. The tank version has been modelled RTR by Rivarossi, Life-like and Model Power, so they're way more common on layouts than in real life.

Unknown H0 Freight Cars identification.
doctor quinn replied to melmerby's topic in USA & Canadian Railroads
In the 'blue box' era Athearn and Roundhouse fitted 33" plastic wheels to all their freight cars regardless of what the prototype had. -
Hobbytec Modelismo (Brazil) do a body and frame kit for a GL8 but I think the hood might be too high. The recommended drive is an Atlas Alco switcher which show up at quite reasonable prices on eBay. http://hobbytec.com.br/paginas/produtos/visualizar_produto.php?cod_prod=9 (R$ is Brazilian Reals R$160 is about £25)

On the couplers issue, could you economise by using the Roco close coupler within rakes such as tankers? I wouldn't suggest a bar coupling as I found two vehicles awkward to handle. I don't know if you've looked at any military modellers on YouTube, I found by paining and weathering skills improved when I started looking at what they were doing. 'Panzermeister 36' is very good, with the bonus of doing some trains too.

Same here, even with Con-cor and Life-Like - I think all manufacturers use the NMRA standard. One thing I noticed with Athean 4 bay center flows is that Kadees are a bit low with 33" wheels but bang in with 36" wheels ( which are correct for 100t cars) -
Advice on some Buildings: could these be German?
doctor quinn replied to Keith Addenbrooke's topic in German Railways
The architecture of B & C look fine, B especially puts me in mind of Northern European port areas. However, the doors on C look more like truck loading dock doors for European context. They also seem to have a fixed position to suit 50' boxcars with relatively narrow doors. I'd expect the rail side to have a full length canopy to allow slide side vans to be unloaded. -

I'd say that's a ConCor, derived from the 1960's Revell model. I thought mine sat a bit high out of the box, maybe the previous owned changed the trucks for the same reason -

Thanks, that's definitely Roundhouse though it's acquired metal wheels ( probably Kadee). Even with the tidying needed I think you have a bargain. -

That one looks like a Roundhouse car, could you post some pictures of the undersides? -
Repairs to Roco and Piko locomotives.
doctor quinn replied to RusheyPlatt's topic in Overseas Modelling
I offered a working hypothesis of why Piko may not wish to supply spare parts direct to the UK -
Repairs to Roco and Piko locomotives.
doctor quinn replied to RusheyPlatt's topic in Overseas Modelling
Distance selling to the UK would now require Piko to register and account for UK VAT on all consignments under £135, which is likely to be a lot of spares orders. -
Front Range GP7 or 9 are a possibility as they have separate frames. Possibly an old school Life Like (pre-Proto) GP18 but that may need the hoods cutting off the frame

Underscale model - is this a record?!
doctor quinn replied to Nick Lawson's topic in Modifying & Detailing RTR stock
The coal wagon had 24.5t moulded into the wagon number panel so that was vertically challenged. I think it was too long and too wide so it would pass as a fitted 21tonner. -
