  1. Very sad news, it was always great to chat to Ken.
  2. With less than a week to go to our Autumn Show, here's Hayden Reeds atmospheric view of the bridges at Trent Lane
  3. Thanks for posting, Les - looking forward to seeing Bregenbach im Schwarzwald again
  4. Indeed, the only place I've seen crane runners with an end like that is in Italy. The crane always struck me as American influenced as it has no buffers and the pulleys that raise the jib are horizontal rather than vertical on a British crane (I gleaned that information from an article on Continental Modeller)
  5. Wire Mill Drive will also be at our show - modern industrial railroading by Dave Paylor
  6. I definitely like the multiple exits from the scenic section and the way that industrial tracks exit behind structures. My only queries are; whether the Beirut Port interchange track will enter the fiddle yard, and whether the curve on the Orient Pipe factory spur may be a bit tight for coupling into wagons that are on that track.
  7. Excellent, that's a GWR design van so the Railtec sheet you showed should have suitable numbers. I've dropped a link to the GWR vans page on Paul Bartlett below do you can get an idea of the wagon numbers to pick. All starting with W. https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/gwrvans I noticed that BR built some GWR style box vans with smooth plywood sides https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/brgwrvan
  8. The emblem looks like cut down loco emblem, I wonder if some one has done it themselves (a 'code 3' I believe they're called). If it was based on a real one I'd expect the circular coaching stock emblem to have been used. That said, I imagine BR would have had official cars, I recall the Chairman of the National Coal Board's official car had a vanity plate 'NCB 1'
  9. Check if the steel weight is flat, I've had a few blue box cars where the weight is bent and pulls the coupler boxes up.
  10. Could you post a picture of the wagon body? That decal sheet would cover pre-BR vans (LMS, GWR, LNER & Southern) that were still in service with BR. If you're looking for information on goods wagons, Paul Bartlett's photo site is the go to place. https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/paulbartlettsrailwaywagons
  11. A trio of pics of Central Alonzo Mill which will be at the Nottingham Autumn show.
  12. Visted this morning and it was excellent - thanks to everyone involved. Here's a few very random shots from today.
  13. They look rather good, reminiscent of the Peco n gauge model which I think was made to fit the same chassis as their 45t tanker
  14. Looks good Andy, that'll keep the rain off the workers.

  16. They look like a more modern version of the 'Haus zu Haus' containers which I think were introduced in the 1930s.
  17. Your two locos put me in mind of the Burlington Northern of Manitoba https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burlington_Northern_Santa_Fe_Manitoba
  18. Pemco also did a version and I believe the Rivarossi one was sold under the AHM brand
  19. They are spectacularly good, thanks for posting the link to your site. Nick
  20. Just spotted this thread, I'm local to Derby and I'd be happy to bring Industrivej. Nick
  21. A few months back I posted an in progress picture of an on-track plant carrier which I've now finished. The decals are mainly my own design printed by Precision Labels. The load is a Durango press spike puller which is a really nice kit to build.
