One for Cav, and I apologise if I'm being slow joining the dots on this. I'm a DCC ready purchaser and, to be honest, I'd never thought about what DCC Chip restrictions there maybe when I ordered them or whilst waiting. There's been mention of getting DCC Chips configured for the multiple lighting configurations but then a recommendation to James on the LokoPilot 59619? Will the 59619 'plug and play' all lighting options or do I need to wait for the CAVALEX mentored on? I've got spare chips to just get them running in the short term and I've zero plans for sound as it agitates my tinnitus. SO . . . get the 59619 now or wait for the bespoke CAVALEX one?
As an aside, gents (Cav Alex) you should be incredible proud of what you have achieved. Looks great, colour pallet looks spot on and impressive packaging. One of the things I've often chatted about with fellow enthusiast is my frustration in quality control and spares support. Were a million miles away from the the Hornby / Lima (with a total of 25 constructed parts) 'Toy' trains of the past, to these high quality items of miniature engineering. The packaging immediately struck me of being commensurate with an item of "miniature engineering" and not a toy.
I look forward to participating in the brand growth (as a customer) in the future :-) Cough PWA Pallet Vans
Afternoon Melly,
Due to the complex nature of the lighting functions, you will need a specially programmed decoder for the Class 56 in DCC operation.
We recommend a properly programmed ESU Lokpilot 59619 decoder.
We are currently finalising the file with ESU and will then be in a position to supply, most likely through our retailers.
If you could please bear with us, however, we hope to have news on that over the next few days.
Thank you for your kind comments and to everyone that has posted positive feedback.

56049 delivered today from rails but I appear to have no name plates included in the box 😊
Might help someone, I'm currently running in with a cheap Lais decoder and I have headlight on F0, markers on F2, fans on F3 & F4 but not much else. Will definitely be swapping it out for something more suitable ASAP!
Evening Fortesejunction, sorry to hear about the missing name plates.
Can you please email cavalexmodels@gmail.com and then we can arrange to get a replacement set sent out to you?
Hope that helps.

I am very impressed with my two 56s in many ways, but I have a couple of problems. I am a DC user. The coal 56 running was fine both directions and then haulage with Cavalex HAAs was going well until it stopped! It then moved slowly with my controller red light flashing meaning overload or a short. I checked it was not the layout by testing a different loco which was ok. I tried it again yesterday and it was slow again with the red light flashing, but then suddenly burst into power and drove away. It now runs fine, but a friend's 56 ran slowly from the start and today burnt out. He is sending it back. Is this a known issue?
My construction 56 had no white lights at one end that didn't work. However, I always switch lights off anyway. But I tried to switch them off reading the book but there is no central off position which the book mentions. I am also not sure why there are only red lights front & red lights rear, nothing for white lights, only cab lights + Power pack on and power supply on. Any thoughts?
Cheers.
Good afternoon,
Sorry to hear about the issues that you are experiencing.
I have just sent you a pm.

Back to the model - having picked up a 56 today from Rails I got it home and there was something loose inside.
Taking the body off one of small fittings in the cab that has the Dials on fell out.
Is there a way to take the interior out of the cab so I could glue the small piece back in place?
Thanks
Peter
Hi Peter, sorry to hear about the loose part on your 56.
I have just replied to your email.

Got my hands on 093 from Rails yesterday and although I’ve not had chance to get it out of the box I have to say it looks very impressive. I did order the EM gauge drop in wheel sets but they weren’t in the packaging, I did phone Rails but they said they haven’t got them yet and they’ll follow shortly.
Paul
Hi Paul,
Really pleased to hear that you like your 093, I think that could possibly be my favourite!
I notice in the second photo that you posted it appears that one of the handrails is missing, can you please check and confirm?
Apologies if it is but we can get you a replacement sent out in the post.
Hope that helps.

I’ve had her up and running on a rolling road and I’m very impressed, but I can’t wait to get her running on the layout.
Many thanks. Keith.Good morning Keith,

56019 is one of my 4 (...cough) 56's on order. I am officially excited.
I have to confess that for me, not a huge Grid fan if truth be told........Original Railfreight is my favourite livery for 56s. Whilst I didn't mind Red Stripe Railfreight, I preferred Original Railfreight.
I hope Cavalex release 56002 in Original Railfreight at some point!!!Anyway, back on subject, 56019. 56008 was my favourite, but there is something rather special about 019. It just looks superb.
But then again, I do like 093, 120, 077, 023, 091, 018, 055, 046, 098, 081, 049, 070, 074, 097.........
Like you Norski, we are extremely excited!!!
Thanks to everyone that has supported the project so far, we are very grateful.

Cheers Peter.
I hope so Peter, could do with a few!
Like this one:
And then maybe a few Donny versions:
I remember seeing the Western Region examples on aggregate workings when on jaunts out of Paddington.

Thanks Pete, we are really pleased with how it has turned out.
Nice to see you giving her a test run. I really like 008. There was always something special about the Romanian ones to me.
I really want one, or two, for my depot!!!I am just looking at 56093 in Large Logo, oh yes......takes me back to Doncaster February 1988 when I saw it pass through several times light engine.

Hi E100, sorry not as yet. Hopefully we will be able to get at least one running over the weekend.

I have to confess that it is rather difficult choosing my favourite from all the models....however, whilst I preferred Original Railfreight to Red Stripe Railfreight, there is something very nice about 019!
It looks incredible.
