Quick question for the Cav lads, I’ve emailed about getting a spare buffer for my TEA wagon but haven’t heard back. Which email address should I be using? I used the form on the website so don’t know if you got it?
aureol40012, thanks for your message. Your email was received and a reply sent three days ago could I ask that you check your spam folder just in case it has gone in there.
Could you please send another email to cavalexmodels@gmail.com ?
Then we can get this resolved for you. Many thanks.
Hope that helps.

I thought I’d give this thread a little bump as it’s been a little quiet on the Western Front…..
Having seen the decorated samples at DEMU, I’m very much looking forward to the production roll out as these fit in nicely with our Revolution Trains JNA-T boxes, and also with my own JNA-As as used on the the empties through Castle Cary. There’s a lot of mileage with these wagons too now that FL have taken over the contracts from Whatley and Merehead as they seem to get marshalled with a whole manner of wagons and end up all over the place.
Now……about those N Gauge ones……
Hi Mike, nice to see you at DEMU and have a catch up.
Thanks for your bump!
We are planning to post a project's update soon which will include an update on the O&K box wagons.
Just to whet your appetite....

Thank you so much. That really has helped to see all the different livery details / grills etc. Now I just have to decide!
You are welcome.
Good luck with your decision, I am tempted by all four of those!!!

Thank you so much. It's hugely appreciated as I realise it must be a faff to do. I will commit to buying at least one of them - sound fitted of course!
Morning E100, here are the end views for 56008, 56070, 56093 and 56120.
I hope that helps.

As we await the final pre-production samples from the factory which will include the latest sound file and final speaker setup, the testing of our painted samples has continued. Thanks to Barrow Hill Junction; BR Blue 56008 was given a MGR working very prototypical for the area whilst 56049 was given some mileage on bogie tank wagons.

Please keep an eye out for updates coming soon.- 17

Hi Guys, unfortunately we didn't make it to DEMU weekend just gone and was wondering if you had any good photos of the weathered variant pre production decorated sample? Thanks 😄
Morning WCML100, sorry for the delay in replying, I have not logged in for a few days.
It was a shame that you couldn’t make DEMU this year, we had a few goodies on display that might have been of interest!
We will be posting a project’s update over the next couple of weeks which will include photos of the latest pre-production samples.
Hope that helps.

Hi
Any updates on these wagons lots of updates on class 56 and 60 but these seem to almost have slipped into the “Bachmann” announcement then long gap before production #dont shoot the messenger
cheers
Hi Deltic Man,
Sadly Covid has impacted this project and with the delays caused by the epidemic and other issues in China, unfortunately the knock on effect is a backlog which hasn't helped.
We are working closely with the factory to get the PHA/JGA project progressing to the production stage of the process as soon as practically possible. We are just awaiting updated samples from the factory, which are due imminently (The factory is currently making the samples), for final approval ahead of the project moving to the production stage of the process. The wagons are expected later this year.
We will provide updates as and when we have further information.Thank you for your patience.

Class 56 - Improvements
We’ve been working with the factory to make further improvements to the 56 ahead of the production models, with the mesh horn grille being an area we wanted to focus on. As you can see the mesh has been further improved vs the painted samples alongside other areas which we will showcase on the production samples.

Thank you to British Railway Modelling for a great weekend at Alexandra Palace last weekend - thanks also to everyone that visited our stand over the weekend and spoke to us on various projects. We are also very grateful to the New Sodbury layout team by Thornbury & South Gloucestershire MRC for running our 56049 painted sample over the weekend - it looked great on the Revolution Trains log carriers!

I recently purchased a Cavalex BBA and a BLA and have discovered that the latter is causing a short circuit on my layout.
Can anyone suggest what might be causing the short circuit and perhaps suggest a remedy.
Thanks in advance.
Mal
Hi Mal, sorry to hear about the issues that you are experiencing with your BLA.
I have sent you a pm.
We will get this resolved for you.
Best Regards

Thank you to everyone that has posted on our thread since the announcement last week and for the positive reaction to our Class 60 project. We are delighted with the comments and feedback received so far and very excited to share this fantastic project with the modelling community.
Thanks to those that attended Model Rail Scotland at the weekend and visited our stand to discuss the Class 60 and our other projects. It was a great weekend.
A lot of time and effort has gone into this locomotive project, and we are very excited to bring this to fruition.
I can see me getting a few of these for my layout!

i’m thinking i’m going to let my Hornby Cappagh go actually.
I initially thought why a 60 ?And was a little bit puzzled when I walked up to the stand at MRS.
Ive had a look over the 3D print and Cav and Alex gave me a good amount of time to chat over the 60 this weekend, and got beaten up about a lamp-iron !!
Its left me with a lot of noodling ( and my little one got a 2nd Irn Bru flavoured Ice Cream for being patient with me).
But I kind of see where they are going with this.
The Hornby 60’s cab proportions and front end arent looking right, and the roof detail could be better refined. The engine room detail on the Cavalex 60 is looking pretty promising. The buffer beam / airdam (plough/ insert your choice of wheel guard name here) could definitely be improved on the Hornby one. The relief on the bogies on the 3D print look encouraging.
I too want the DCR one, maybe two (029/055). But in retrospect whilst swapping out my Hornby ones is a tough ask, I think I will start with the current and work backwards..
I wasnt able to get a GBRF one, at a sub £200 price, and at this point I wont bother continuing to look for the Hornby one. That makes my Hornby Cappagh an outlier and I think i’m going to let that go, which brings me to DB/EWS / Colas and gets my contemporary 60’s on the same page.
Why ?
Whats obvious is the Hornby and Cavalex 60’s are not going to sit as nicely next to each other, as say, the Bachmann 37 iterations do.
Thats interesting as I thought the Hornby 60 as not bad, but its potentially not, but whilst length is the same proportions aren’t. I’m not going to be able to unsee the front end cab shape being as so different from this point, indeed the whole cab front from roof to rail is looking questionable on the Hornby 60.
I’m going to watch this project closely.
It was good to meet Mark from Rainbow Railway who was on the next door stand, and had a chat about a chance coincidence of a 60 in Blackpool… it would probably be this one..
1992 60056 was a few months old and on driver training, it got called in to rescue a failed Blackpool working, something it then did for at least the next day, if not two days (theres a picture of it hauling 31413 somewhere which was used for heating as I recall, as despite being failed it was still needed).
It also did a railtour out of Preston 1992 in the Mini railtour day which was around the same time.
(Flickr url/ not mine).
Hi ADB968008, it was good to see you at the weekend and talk about our Class 60 project.
Lamp irons were the main topic of conversation on Saturday night which caused some in depth discussions between Cav and I…..however, the outcome is still the same!!!!!
I am really pleased to hear that you came away from visiting our stand having seen first-hand the 3D print which captures the face of the locomotive so well. Hopefully you can now fully appreciate what we are trying to achieve with our Class 60 project.
The 3D print certainly gives you a visual representation of what to expect when the first EP arrives.
As I am sure you could probably tell from our chat, we are all very passionate about our projects and in particular this Type-5. If you couldn’t tell, we quite like these Brush Beasts!
Thanks for taking the time to pop by and have a chat.
I must confess; we were a little disappointed that we were not offered an ice cream!
