This is shaping up to be quite a model,i like the slow running trials as its far more important with it being a freight loco that it performs well at creep and realisic running speed. I can see pairs of these on Mendip traffic,is double heading a thing to test also or is the test article an only child.
Thanks for your kind comments, we are pleased to hear that you like the look of our Class 56 project so far.
Regarding double heading, this is is something that we will be testing once the painted samples arrive. We would expect this to be the same as with all Loksound V5 fitted locos with the consist setup being mainly down to the DCC controller being used.
Hope that helps.

Class 56 Kadee coupling test
At GETS earlier this month, we were asked about the compatibility of using Kadee couplings with our Class 56. Thanks to Allan Cromarty and The Stafford Railway Circle, who kindly allowed us conduct a test to test on their layout “Whiteacres”. The locomotive and first wagon were coupled together using Kadee couplings and as can be seen from the below video, no issues were experienced using these type of couplings.
Thanks again to Allan and The Stafford Railway Circle.

One of the characteristics of the Class 56 was the fitting of Slow Speed Control for work on Merry-Go-Round traffic to aid with the loading of coal at Collieries and unloading at Power Stations. This was an important feature that we wanted to include on our model to allow customers to recreate this on their layouts.
As part of the testing process, the EP sample was run at slow speed under load to check that our model can run smoothly at slow speeds.
Here is a video of our 56 sample on Barrow Hill Junction on speed step 6 pulling 36 Cavalex HAAs on test. It is a long video, but we felt that it was important to show this capability of the model.
Our thanks to Michael Rhodes for allowing us to run our 56 and HAAs on Barrow Hill Junction.

Thank you to everyone that visited our stand over the weekend at the Hornby Magazine Great Electric Train show.
It was very special to see a rake of our HAAs lapping round Making Tracks 2 all weekend - thanks also to Pete Waterman and the Railnuts team for allowing us to haul their HAAs with our 56 EP sample! Looking forward to the painted samples arriving.

We have been testing out the haulage capability of our forthcoming class 56 on Barrow Hill Junction using 36 of our HAAs. The Trains4U and KMS weathered HAAs proved a suitable and prototypical load for testing the Class 56 sample.
Here are a couple of video clips of the Class 56 pulling the HAAs:Our thanks to Michael Rhodes for allowing us to run our 56 and HAAs on Barrow Hill Junction.

HAA Project Update
As the production stage of the process for our HAA project nears completion we wanted to show a pre-production sample of our brown cradle HOP AB.
These models will be arriving over the next couple of months and available to pre-order from KMS Railtech and Trains4U.
Keep an eye on our website and social media pages for updates.- 4

Hi,
it has been a while since the orginal batches of the HAA were found to have a production issue, Is there any update as to when the new batches will be delivered
Hi 47007stratford,
Sadly, the models have had to be completely remade from scratch which as I am sure you can understand takes time for the factory to complete. Unfortunately, this has also had an impact on production for the whole project.
The factory is hoping to have the first batch of Models ready for shipping at the end of the month. We apologise for the delay.

Well I have to say that was quite a weekend. To see our first locomotive turn its wheels for the very first time on Saturday morning was an incredible sight and the feeling that accompanied this was something that I will never forget. A milestone reached.
To say that we are excited about this project is an understatement!
Here is another clip of the Romanian example on some of our BBA wagons in EWS livery.
Our thanks to Mike Buick for allowing us to run our loco on his superb Oak Road layout.

How close are the First and Last HAAs to reaching these shores? I thought I read somewhere that although the first part of the main production had errors and were being reworked, this would not affect the production of the models for Locomotion.
Hi Bishdurham,
We are just waiting to hear from the factory on when they will be on their way.
The first and last for Locomotion Models are due to be shipped with the next batch but we are awaiting further information.
We will provide updates as and when we know more.- 1

Are those renders or painted samples Alex? Either way, they look superb!
Thanks too for the plug for Showcase. As I understand it, there should be some interesting items from Cavalex for display at the show.
Guy
Morning Guy,
It is a render, the decorated samples should hopefully be with us over the next few months.
We are really looking forward to Showcase.

Our class 56 design gives us the ability to offer different cab styles at each end of the model, something not previously available to potential customers.
Here is a photo of the body shells for our forthcoming 56049 which has different style cabs at each end.- 17

Class 56 Project Update
The first Cavalex 56 sample!
We’re extremely excited to show off this hand assembled first sample of our forthcoming class 56 locomotive. We’re expecting the first factory assembled samples with all of the parts soon - so look out for further updates! Please bear in mind this is a hand assembled sample by us and there are numerous parts that aren’t fitted perfectly which will be rectified on future samples.

No idea what is going on as I am not getting these emails. The last one I got from you was 1/11 last year. I think there are issues with my ISP (BT) as I have had a few emails not appear recently.
Anyhow, I have just sent an email to you confirming my delivery address.
Thanks for the quick responses - much appreciated.
RoyThanks Roy, email received.

Good evening Roy,
I have just checked our email, and spam folder, and as of today we have not received an email confirming your delivery address.
We also sent a reminder yesterday evening in addition to the email which was sent to all customers on the 13th of April.
Could you please check?
Many thanks

Ok you have inaccurate HAAs. The answer is obvious put them in red boxes and charge more for them.
I am now imagining Boxenby Yard by the TMD full of HAAs.......and 56s!

HAA Project Update
We are pleased to have received the first two batches of our HAA project which have been delivered to KMS Railtech and Trains4U. The factory is working hard to deliver the rest of the range as soon as practically possible.
We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding over the past few months during this challenging period.
The factory will be sending the remainder of the range in batches over the next month.
Updates will be provided as and when more information becomes available.
