  1. We have just posted a few more photos of the EP samples in our February update: https://www.cavalexmodels.com/february-2021-update
  2. Good morning CB Rail, thank you for your post and kind comments about our BBA wagons. We will be providing an update on our projects this weekend which will also include details of the second run of BBA and BLA wagons. Hope that helps. Best Regards Alex
  3. A quick update. Not a great deal of progress has been made over the past few weeks, not visually anyway. Although behind the scenes work is still ongoing which includes work on the Washer Plant Line and the Load Bank road. A big thank you to Jason Johnson for his help with laser cutting the pieces for these two areas of the layout. Fairly early this morning a parcel arrived and like a child on Christmas morning I opened it straight away.....I couldn't wait!! This is what was in the parcel. Washer Plant Line Load Bank Road The Washer Plant Line concrete area will be lowered into the board to allow the rail to sit at the correct height and line up to the track at each end. Once painted and weathered I think these two areas will add interest and become nice features of the layout.
  4. Good morning Jools1959, apologies for the very late reply. We will certainly add the IHA to our list of potential future projects so thank you for your suggestion. We always appreciate suggestions and ideas. D9502, the BWA and BXA will follow as they are part of the BBA family. Thanks for mentioning these wagons. Craig, thanks for your suggestion. The LWRT is on our radar following the extensive research that Cav carried out previously for his N gauge 3D printed Perch. Thanks again to everyone for their input.
  5. What about this Paul? Not a 58 Paul but this might also be an option albeit with canopies.
  6. We wanted to share a photo showing the first completed tests for our weathered TEA/KBA wagons. We think they look very positive indeed. Of course these are just samples to test the weathering technique that the factory will apply. The final models will be decorated correctly to match the prototype wagons as well as having differing chip and wear patterns to give a level of individuality to an assembled rake.
  7. Hi Paul, I always thought that 58s looked best in the Original Railfreight livery so fully understand your purchase! Some links below to Flickr for some prototype inspiration to rekindle your memories!! I came across these photos the other day whilst browsing Flickr, justification for me purchasing a few HAAs for my layout I think!
  8. Good evening Paul, Thank you for pointing that out, we appreciate all feedback. We are aware that some parts have been incorrectly fitted to the wrong version, such as the CDA buffers being fitted to an HAA. This will be added to the list for attention ahead of the painted samples. The HAA will have OLEO type buffers as per the prototype. We will review the samples and provide our feedback to the factory in due course. Hope that helps. If you have any additional comments then please do let us know. Many thanks
  9. We’re really excited to show off our HAA and CDA EP samples which have arrived for review. There are a final few tweaks to be made, however we’re really happy with how they’re shaping up. We can’t wait for the painted samples which are due after The Chinese New Year! 10. Good morning Grizz, thank you for your pre-order. Did you select "Send me a copy of my responses" on page 6 before submitting the form? Unfortunately unless this option is selected a confirmation of your pre-order will not be sent. However, if you send an email to cavalexmodels@gmail.com we can check and confirm that your pre-order has been received. Hope that helps.
  11. Well, I couldn't resist getting out a few 60s...Yes they are all Hornby. Superb models. I think there is another one, 014 Alexander Flemming, inside the depot. Also have another couple of Petroleum ones which will be renumbered and most likely sector symbols changed in the future. Yes I believe that there was only the one Washer Plant for the depot.
  12. Unfortunately the only cure is for me to finish it!! I do not think that there is any doubt about my nuttiness!! I just hope that I can finish it during this decade!! For my own sanity.....
  13. Version 3 which now has the outer border and the drain channel. I am very happy with this now. Now to get the concrete pieces sorted and the Washer Plant line ready.
  14. Thanks Saxokid. Slow progress at the moment but getting there.
  15. Version 2 of the Washer Plant line. Overall I am pretty pleased with the scale and size of this version. Here are a few photos with a loco on the concrete area to give an idea of scale. Now to sort out the channel in the middle of the line that allows the dirty water to drain away. Here is a photo of the concrete area at March depot to show what I mean.
  16. A couple of photos showing the Washer Plant line at Toton:
  17. I have been looking at the concrete area of the Washer Plant line. This is version 1, just getting the rough size of the concrete area and offering it up to the plan. I have since made a few tweaks and plan to print off version 2 shortly.
  18. Thank you Mr Shedmaster. Boxenby was devised with those Brush Beasts in mind, they really do look at home sat on shed. Or will do once it isn't just sleepers!! That sounds like fun! You will have to visit and show me how it is done with my little locos! Not much progress this week, more research on the internet. A couple of different views: Working on the washer plant line next.....
  19. A quick update. I have laid the sleepers for the start of the three stabling sidings which sit to the north of the depot adjacent to the washer plant line. Before I post a few photos I thought it might be good to look back to how it was prior to the Festive period. Today's photos including a few extra locos on shed:
  20. I might count them!! Only joking, I am not that mad!!!...... Great idea for a competition! However, I am not sure many people would enter!
  21. Happy New Year! First update of 2021, a few more sleepers added including the load bank line.
  22. Thanks Tug002. Yes I am really pleased with the progress made over the festive period. I feel that it is really coming alive and providing some much needed motivation. I am actually very excited about my project!
  23. Happy New Year Ian! I bet you couldn't quite believe your eyes when you saw that I had actually done some work on Boxenby!! Hope you like progress so far.
