  1. Gives them time to correct the orange on 66623 :-)
  2. It’s not faded, it’s a different (pale!) shade of orange. Incidentally the same shade of orange as modelled on the Grand Central 90s. if the paint was faded then so would be the black and the yellow, which are clearly identical to the black and yellow on 419 behind.
  3. As widely quoted already we know 413 was a different shade of orange. I’ve seen it with the old trusty mark 1 eyeball and it’s a lovely shade of tangerine compared to the more blood orange carried by all the subsequent repaints including 66623, also a regular past the back of my house. Not to mention that high quality two pack spray paint used on locos these days certainly doesn’t fade in 9 months! So that’s not the issue. It might be that as I said it’s a trick of the camera but clarification would be welcomed.
  4. Hi Dave, Thanks for the update on the 66s. Can you confirm the shade of orange used on 66623 please? It looks like it’s the shade that is only used on the first one painted (the one Hornby released) rather than the now standard darker orange (similar to Loadhaul orange) - would you be able to show us a side by side comparison with the Hornby one? It looks way too light but understand that cameras do funny things to colours. the attached link shows the differences between the early orange and the standard darker orange - Thanks again for taking the time to contribute to this forum; it is much appreciated. Andi.
  5. No need to apologise. I’m just hoping Hattons decide to do that variant in future.
  6. Look again. They’re not massively different, but different enough. the light apertures on the LEDs being fitted to original spec 66s are much larger. EDIT - I’d forgotten about the top lights which have been replaced on the original specification ones too. Also much larger. But it doesn’t matter whether they are on not, they’re still not fitting them to low emission variants, which means there is a gap for Hattons to fill in future should they so wish.
  7. Indeed Daz; if you read my post again that’s because non of the low emission variants have the new light clusters. The new light clusters are only being fitted to those with the old BMAC versions, which are all original specification machines. So you are still wrong, not that it matters. The new light clusters replacing the BMAC ones are different to those featured on the low emission versions that Hattons are producing. And thanks to Dave for answering the question so quickly too of course.
  8. But actually they don’t, as those with LED WIPAC headlights that Hattons are producing are all low emissions variants. The replacement LED light arrangement that Dicky refers to is only present on original versions.
  9. Fair enough Phil; I just think that forums like this should actually be places where errors should be highlighted and challenged perhaps, and I feel that the moderator on this occasion perhaps was leaning towards the view that we should just accept errors, but I may be wrong. I'm not offended in any way. At the end of the day I don't think there is any need for the use of the phrase 'get a grip' in any context - its nice to be nice hey?
  10. Not really a need for that sort of response is there? Would expect better for a moderator... It is quite right that most won't care, and those that do, won't buy it. But it is a pretty substantial error. If I did a model that was wrong like that it'd soon be back.
  11. Looking good Mick. Have you any close ups of the work done to 97302’s roof please?
  12. Hi Mick, sorry I didn’t get chance to say hello today, you were always engrossed with others! But I thought the layout was fantastic. My favourite and in my opinion the best that was there. Superb attention to detail on both layout and stock. So many layouts are let down by the traction but yours was absolutely fantastic. Keep it up! Andi.
  13. .....perhaps a modern image depot based one.....!
  14. Those locos do look good, I agree Mark
  15. Hi Mick, If its any help, I used an old Dellner from a 57 for my 884, which i glued on to the bottom of a screw link - see pic. I also created the m/w socket from bits of plasticard, and the LED taillights from replica. Keep up the great work. Cheers, Andi.
  16. I'm putting my entire collection of Colas locos that these will be those nice looking Colas barriers!!
