  1. I saw that one too. I just went on Flickr and searched 86401 Liverpool Street which is how I found that gem at Stratford. I then expanded my search to other RES 86/4s and found the others. 86426 in blue also worked the line - but pre DBSO.
  2. i did find this shot on Flickr with the 86/4 hauling a DBSO set but not in push pull mode.
  3. Note this was pre DBSO era, as there is a BSO behind the loco. I’d be surprised if it did run with a DBSO if I’m honest - I think the RES substitutions occurred towards the end of 86 operations on the GEML in the late 90s but happy to be corrected!
  4. You are quite right in that there was no v1 with splitboxes. I didn’t mean to come across with pedant mode totally on but I see v1 as the very poor first 37/4 (and 37/5) models. Then v2 was the split and centre box ones with the cowling and no removable noses, but I can’t remember if the improved 37/4 came first 🤪
  5. That was version 2. The only one to date without removable noses.
  6. Might depend on detail differences. 081 had a different roof to 043, not sure about 027. Detail differences would also rule out 111.
  7. Cheers. I’ve been pointed at this elsewhere so will take a look. There’s always the excellent PH Designs etched ones but I’m not sure we should be having to resort to workarounds at the price these are.
  8. I think that is 37800 in the old tooling.
  9. The 37419 that Accurascale are doing in the first run isn’t suitable for backdating for a number of reasons, but I’m sure they’ll do one in time.
  10. I think the tooling for that version was in the cabinet at DEMU although can’t be 100% sure.
  11. Interesting choice of models. 3 out of the 4 always carried ploughs in that guise, but they’re not on the pictures I’ve seen so far. I know they’ll be there with the locos, but strange not to pose them with them on.
  12. No problem at all. I managed it by a quick Flickr search, as I was curious too!
  13. Released from refurbishment in March 1986, named 11/05/86, repainted into Intercity style mainline in May 1990.
  14. Looking back at prototype pics it seemed to have been modified after only a couple of weeks. Pics of it in late June 2003 show it already modified.
  15. Many thanks glad you like it. I’d missed the purple band around the top until I checked the prototype pictures, so it was retrofitted :-)
  16. Wow looks great Mick, thanks. I’m looking at getting some 3D printed “inserts” to allow cutting of TSOs and not harming BSOs but we will see.
  17. Really impressed with these so far. I was on hand to film it with the redland hoppers. Just needs a sound chip now!
  18. Have I missed the BUO’s somewhere Mick? I’d be interested to hear how you are approaching these.
  19. This version from Bachmann is the 1990s spec 37/4 isn’t it? Obviously not the 37/5 hasn’t been announced, yet.
  20. Forgive me if it’s been mentioned already, but the interesting thing, particularly with the 37/4s, is if you were era specific you wouldn’t be running the announced Accurascale 37/4s in 80s condition as they’ve got too many modifications to bring them up to date to be accurate for the 80s. I’ve seen the Bachmann offering and it looks great, and perfect for the 80s modeller who doesn’t want to wait to see if Accurascale fills that gap. There’s space for both I think and it’s great to see one finished model looking great and one yet to be finished looking great too. I can’t wait to have both side by side. Only downsides on the Bachmann one for me are the removable noses and the ploughs. The latter is my main bugbear on the 47 too.
  21. Just a quick note to all to check your models… I’ve just sat my DCC sound version on the rolling road to discover it’s a DCC ready version, which has took the excitement out of me a little 🤪
  22. To add to the froth! Love it. Now going to source some fine wire for its nose end aerials 😬
  23. Agreed. I drove past a Rails van this morning and wondered if it might be full of Deltics 😆
  24. This made me chuckle as I did exactly the same, and binned it off after this announcement!
  25. As I mentioned earlier, just a shame about the wrong yellow on 44, but they look stunning.
