Boiler cover: is it worth getting?

Based purely on cost, you'd probably be better off paying for repairs on an ad hoc basis rather than paying monthly for boiler cover.

Our annual survey of boiler owner shows that the average gas boiler has almost a 50% chance of needing a repair in its first six years - though if you buy a boiler from the one of most reliable boiler brands this drops to less than 40%. With this in mind, it's easy...

I found it was definitely worth having the cover for an old boiler, but not for our newer (now 4 yrs) one.

I would normally not do such insurance but I do have the BG Homecare and found it very useful as we always get a prompt response and the job fixed without having to worry about an unknown "Goon" turning up and whether he is ripping you off or not. If the BG fix doesn't work they will come back without argument. I think I have had my moneys worth out of them over the years.
