  1. Same here, no sign of it in Ayrshire.
  2. Hi Charlie, Excellent choice of wagon. It will complement the 4 Taylor kits I have of the same wagon. Been onto the Realtrack site to order the Rugby version, if I select the option for ordering 2 packs will the packs be one of pack E and F? Thanks, Keith.
  3. Hoping the Strathclyde Orange also makes the final cut too.
  4. Shame I won't be able to make this years show. Looks like another great show has been organised. Hope the change of weekend will be a success for the show. Keith.
  5. Hello Dave, Have the second invoices been sent out yet? I've not received one if they have. Thanks, Keith.
  6. Hope the show is a success, sorry I can’t be with you.
  7. Another excellent line up. Looks like another cracking show.
  8. Looks like RFS had something similar an English Electric unit. https://flic.kr/p/igY3Vz https://flic.kr/p/9DC1xr Keith.
  9. An excellent project for the society, hope it will be a success. Does anyone know when the RMS locotec version was first applied and also did any of these Hunslets ever wear the RFS grey livery with the yellow and blue stripes? Keith.
  10. Can't help with the split gears, had plenty of my own break. But if you are still after plastic case that the loco's come in, Cheltenham Models had some for sale recently at the Wigan exhibition, can't remember the price, but didn't seem reasonable. Think they were doing buy 4 get a 5th free. Keith.
  11. Hi all, I have been looking at the pictures of the decorated samples on the Dapol Digest site. Apart from the few errors that Andy has pointed out they look very good. The shop I order my Dapol items from has sent me a list to pre-order hence me looking at the decorated samples to decide which ones to get, all 6 of the first release is a bit much on the wallet!! I was going to order 33103 in Dutch, but I see it has the square raised cover on the cab roofs (sure it has a technical name??), after looking through a load of photos I can't find any of 103 having this mod whilst in Dutch, perhaps others have photographic evidence? Which would be good to see. So it may be 33102 and 33046 to start with? Cheers, Keith.
  12. I see that 50031 has been painted in Intercity livery!!
  13. An excellent choice Mike and Ben. Sod's law dictates that after I brought some 3D printed PFA's from Vonzack (of this parish) that a rtr version would be announced!!Nevertheless I intend to purchase a few. The 3D printed ones are destined for MOD traffic with some C-rail containers. So I have been doing a bit of trawling through books to see when these were used in freightliner trains, to supplement my existing container flats. My modelling era is similar to Big p but an extra couple of years either side 86-94. My findings so far are that from 1989 BR hired some Tiphook PFA's for freightliner services and as Fat Controller points out a picture is in the Freightliner life and times book on page 96. The change to KFA was in 1991 according to David Ratcliffe's Private Owner Wagons in colour from Ian Allan, page 33. David Ratcliffe also notes in Freight Train Formations also Ian Allan on page 77,78 the consist of 4O67, Barton Dock to Southampton Maritime service (October 1992) with 4 Tiphook KFA's in the train. Also from what I have seen the use of these on MOD trains was from around 1992, any conformation on this would be welcome. I have yet to find any pictures of the GPS bogied version on Freightliner trains during this period. Cheers, Keith.
  14. They certainly looked good.Managed to catch up with them at Kilmarnock yesterday. More images at https://www.flickr.com/photos/keithware Cheers, Keith
  15. A few recent photos of 37's around South Ayrshire https://flic.kr/p/DkbpYx https://flic.kr/p/Dq4S8f https://flic.kr/p/CTX4A2 Cheers, Keith.
  16. This is an excellent development and I hope it will be a success. I've expressed my interest for a SPT 320 and NSE 321. Good luck. Keith.
  17. Hi all, I had a large list sent to me of the upcomming products due soon, amongst the 22 different MK3's listed is this: 2P-005-111 MK 3 INTERCITY 125 EXCUTIVE BUFFET # 10258 loco hauled I do hope the 125 is a typo on the list, I have asked on the Dapol FB page, will post their reply when I receive it. Cheers, Keith.
  18. I can confirm that the loco hauled exec livery MK3's do indeed have Intercity 125 branding, just spoken to the model shop that orders items for me. My order of 5 different coaches have been refused and the understanding proprietor is going to return them to Dapol. As much as I enjoy repainting, weathering, detailing stock etc, I don't see why I should be correcting an error of this magnitude, especially at over £22 a coach. Cheers, Keith.

COMM-RAIL 7th-8th-9th DECEMBER 2012 MODEL RAILWAY EXHIBITION Poynton Youth and Community Centre, 107 Park Lane, Poynton, Stockport, Cheshire SK121RB Information for visitors to COMM-RAIL 2012 Following on from last years opening success, we are confident that the long awaited move to the Pre-Christmas date will prove a further success for all. We have increased the size of the show by around 25% and more than doubled the number of exhibits. Once again several of the layouts are being shown for the first time ever and we have some which have been rarely seen or never exhibited in the North West before. We are proud to announce the return of all three main traders (Squires model and Craft tools, Cheltenham model centre and DC Kits) alongside some specialist traders. Those travelling from the north are advised to avoid using the A6 between Stockport and Hazel Grove- the A34 from M60 is a better way into Poynton. From the south via A34 or A523 is no problem. All roads works in Poynton are now completed! The public open dates and times Friday 7th 5.00pm to 9.30pm Saturday 8th 10.00am to 5.00pm Sunday 9th 10.30am to 4.30pm (please note we do not open until 10.30am on Sunday) EXHIBITORS MARISTOW Bob Harper 7mm Standard gauge South Devon Railway C-1900 ASTON MAGNA (1ST SHOW) Mark Henshaw S148-9i / 9mm intermediate Standard gauge GWR C-1940s UPPER BENLLECH Bob Hawes OO Standard gauge Anglesey C- 1960-65 MELROSE END Brian Davis OO Standard gauge LNWR C-1930 - 40s BODMIN Ray Slack & Ian Hibbert N Standard gauge GWR C-1930s IMPERIAL YARD Peter Latham N Standard gauge C-2000 NEWFIELD Neil Fraser 7mm Standard gauge Midland Railway C-1900 LYTTON CPR Alastair Knox N Scale British Columbia ALDGATE & NORTON FALLGATE David Wheelton TT BR Blue diesel FALLGATE Stephen Little 4mm 009 WICK END 4mm OO Scotland C-1988 DEMONSTRATORS & SOCIETIES DC KITS Video suite (Showing a variety of films throughout the event) N GAUGE SOCIETY Various aspects of N Gauge modelling NGS Main stand in attendance! Dapol HST

Hi all, Picked up my replacement HST today. No issues with the lights and grill this time, though the front window has the glue mark but not as bad as the first. As previous posts mentioned, a bit of weathering should hide it. Regardless of the problems, INTERCITY version ordered. Keith.

    Dapol HST

HI Folks, My blue/grey HST arrived this morning, it certainly looks the part.I've not seen it commented on before but in the bag of bits are a set of exhaust deflectors. Unfortunately my powered car has the glue mark as described by philiprporter and also the headlights/horn grill have a bad fit on one side. The dummy car is fine. Hopefully the attached pictures will show what I am on about?!! Before I send it back to my dealer, Dapol Dave can you confirm that these glue marks are only on a few that have slipped the net and not the entire batch? Still looking forward to the executive and swallow versions. Keith.
